FFOS LAS
Race 2 No2 ONGOMBO
Trainer: Charlie Fellowes – Jockey: Oisin Murphy
ONGOMBO can play the experience card to good effect in the opening restricted maiden. Although out of the money, he put in a career best when posting a midfield finish in the Weatherbys Sales race at Doncaster and a performance close to that level should see him open his account.
Race 4 No5 FLASH BARDOT (Each Way)
Trainer: Henrietta Knight – Jockey: Callum Hutchinson
Dual purpose mare FLASH BARDOT troubled the judge a couple of times over hurdles before being the subject of a gamble switched to the Flat at Haydock. While unable to justify the support she ran well to a point, and will enjoy the searching underfoot conditions today.
Race 5 No4 LUCKY RADAR (Nap)
Trainer: Rod Millman – Jockey: Oisin Murphy
A move up to 1400 metres should benefit LUCKY RADAR, whose inexperience showed through in the early stages of his Chepstow debut only for him to stay on strongly when the penny dropped. With the champion jockey now in the irons he’s in the A1 position to deliver in a race that’s cut up.
LEICESTER
Race 2 No14 BLADEY LADY (Nap)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: Duran Fentiman
BLADEY LADY totally dominated a nursery at Thirsk last week to make it two from two in handicaps to show that a summer break had done her the world of good. The daughter of Minzaal is out to strike while the iron’s hot and can show by campleting the hat-trick in this admittedly hotter contest that she remains a step ahead of the assessor.
Race 3 No10 WARRIOR KNIGHT
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: Rob Hornby
On pedigree WARRIOR KNIGHT needs close inspection in an interesting maiden, as he’s a son of Mehmas out of a mare who won multiple races out of Park House Stables. Representing owners Juddmonte I will be surprised if he’s not popular in the betting for this first run.
Race 6 No4 METALLO (Each Way)
Trainer: John Butler – Jockey: David Egan
METALLO has troubled the judge a few times since changing stables, although each of his eight outings for Butler have happened on the all-weather. He put up in a seasonal best when second at Kempton last time to show he’s on the cusp of a breakthrough on this switch to grass.
HAMILTON PARK
Race 3 No10 NORTHERN BRAVE
Trainer: Michael Dods- Jockey: Connor Beasley
NORTHERN BRAVE has cheek pieces added for this mile and a half handicap for a trainer-jockey team in good form. The Gleneagles gelding has improved from race to race, and a move up the distance ladder can also assist his cause.
Race 5 No7 TANJEN (Nap)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan
Bottom weight TANJEN has her tongue tied down after a game effort to make all at Doncaster where she was mugged in the final 50 yards by Maharajas Express. The pair finished clear of the remainder to bolster the form, and similar tactics can see the Kodi Bear filly taking the spoils.
WOLVERHAMPTON
Race 5 No5 JOUD
Trainer: Ed Bethell – Jockey: Cian Horgan
As the least exposed member of the party JOUD is well worth a market check. Hailing from a yard that’s been going through a purple patch her three career starts so far have been educational, with connections eyeing a campaign handicaps through the autumn for the daughter of St Mark’s Basilica.
Race 6 No6 RAIN CAP
Trainer: John Riches – Jockey: Callum Shepherd
RAIN CAP has posted a number of podium finishes and is overdue a return to the winners’ circle. He’s been dropped 1lb since his latest start at Newcastle and should benefit from a return to 1400 metres. He can take away another cheque in this open affair.
Race 9 No4 MARCH OF TIME (Nap)
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: George Bass
Invincible Spirit filly MARCH OF TIME was a 40-1 roughie when chasing home the well regarded Encore on her first start for Channon at Kempton. It was a most encouraging effort as it was also her first run in the all-weather, and further progress is in the offing.
