WARWICK

Race 1 No2 UN SENS A LA VIE (Nap)
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies – Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies

Point to point winner UN SENS A LA VIE is among the brightest prospects for novice chases running out of Grand Farm Stables and can take care of business in this match with LORIKO. Little separates the pair in the betting but the Nap has been working and schooling well, having signed off in winning style in a valuable handicap hurdle at Market Rasen.

Race 3 No5 ONE KNIGHT
Trainer: Emma Lavelle – Jockey: Cameron Johnstone

ONE KNIGHT made a silly and costly mistake when unseating his pilot on a return to action at Stratford but remains a bright prospect for the Lavelle stable. The chestnut can revisit his smart bumper form to open his account over jumps and is one to keep on the right side of.

Race 4 No4 WOODSTOCK CITY
Trainer: Olly Murphy – Jockey: Sean Bowen

With few miles on his racing clock as a jumper, WOODSTOCK CITY is well worth a market check. The cash that came for him went west when he finished third when last seen at Market Rasen in September but since that debut for his new trainer he’s been operated on for a breathing issue, and it should help him.

SEDGEFIELD

Race 5 No5 CHARACTER TESTING (Nap)
Trainer: Mark Walford – Jockey: Jamie Hamilton

As a sole bet on this tricky card for betting CHARACTER TESTING can lead from tape to line. His detractors might say he’s had plenty of chances, but each of his last four outings have seen him give it a good shot before being overhauled late, three on them at this easy venue which gives him a better chance of lasting home.

LINGFIELD PARK

Race 4 No4 SUPERSTYLIN (Nap)
Trainer: Chris Gordon – Jockey: Freddie Gordon

For sheer consistency, SUPERSTYLIN proved an owners’ dream last season. Only once in ten starts since joining Gordon has the Nap failed the trouble the judge and under the trainer’s son he’s ready for this return to fences.

Race 5 No1 CALSHOT SPIT (Each Way)
Trainer: Sheena West – Jockey: Marco Ghiani Goldstein

One that could go well at a working man’s’ price in this two and a half mile handicap hurdle is CALSHOT SPIT. He’s 1lb lower than when notching his last success at Fontwell in December, while he arrives on the backs of a couple of runs on the Flat which have served to improve his fitness level.

WOLVERHAMPTON

Race 6 No6 ROGUE CITATION (Nap)
Trainer: Ed Bethell – Jockey: Hector Crouch

A step up in trip is unlikely to faze ROGUE CITATION as she tries to back up a Southwell triumph for which she’s 2lb higher. The three times scorer moves up a notch on the class ladder but her AW record of two successes from only three starts suggests she could have more to offer.

Race 7 No6 WOODSTOCK
Trainer: Ruth Carr – Jockey: Joanna Mason

While a high draw is a worry for WOODSTOCK I’m struggling to desert him as he can go well if managing to get across and gain cover. The strong traveller did this column a good turn with his recent Catterick triumph, but this is his first run on sand in exactly a year, and only a tenth in his 42-race career, most of which happened in the early part.
