CHEPSTOW
Race 2 No4 DOUBLE TEN
Trainer: Kim Bailey – Jockey: Thomas Bellamy
DOUBLE TEN was a fortuitous scorer in an Irish point when the horse in front of him fell at the final fence. Nevertheless, it was a promising effort from the seven-year-old, who hails from a top source in Ireland and has schooled well ahead of this debut under Rules.
Race 3 No7 ORDER ON TIME (Nap)
Trainer: Paul Nicholls – Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies
A race won by useful novices Sober Glory and Jurancon in recent seasons can fall to ORDER ON TIME. The former Irish pointer was a wide margin winner of his only run under Rules in a bumper here in the spring, and arrives with stable confidence behind him for this first outing over hurdles.
Race 8 No11 SMOOTH LANDING
Trainer: Sam Thomas – Jockey: Dylan Johnston
The Thomas yard gave us a nice winner in Doctor Kildare last week and though not exactly shelling out winners could again be in the money with SMOOTH LANDING, who is carded to start at lengthy odds for this bumper. Most of the top NH stables are represented in a very competitive heat, but any market confidence in the selection might prove significant.
MUSSELBURGH
Race 1 No3 WEN MOON
Trainer: Ben Haslam – Jockey: Andrew Mullen
WEN MOON can give a good shot at repeating his 2025 triumph in this race. The six-year-old carded his last success that day, but has been lightly raced in 2026, while his narrow defeat over this course and distance in September offers encouragement he’s on the way back.
Race 2 No4 SEQUOIADENDRON (Nap)
Trainer: Richard Hannon – Jockey: Paul Mulrennan
Hannon is a rare visitor to this venue which makes SEQUOIADENDRON of particular interest. The daughter of Golden Pal was easy to back but troubled the judge finishing as strongly as anything on her Kempton introduction. That has tightened her up, giving her a strong formline to bring to the table in a race she’s entitled to win.
Race 7 No6 QUEST FOR FUN
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan
QUEST FOR FUN makes a belated first visit to this course following a deserving success at Doncaster. The chestnut has a happy knack of making the podium and is better drawn than RHOSCOLYN, which could help give him the edge over that ruval.
NOTTINGHAM
Race 2 No3 SONIC SI
Trainer: Tony Carroll – Jockey: Rossa Ryan
Although SONIC SI hasn’t run for five months he left the 2026 season on the back of a fine hat-trick on turf. His AW form is not as good, but he was well supported for each of those triumphs in which he built up a fine understanding with tonight’s pilot.
Race 4 No2 SECRET SQUIRREL (Nap)
Trainer: Hughie Morrison – Jockey: Rob Hornby
The most interesting runner on this card is dual purpose horse SECRET SQUIRREL. You have to go back a long way to his only run on the AW while this is his first run on grass on the Flat, but over hurdles he was campaigned at a higher level, winning a good race at Windsor and placing at Ascot, while he started towards the head of the market in the County Hurdle at last season’s Cheltenham Festival. Whilst enduring some training issues he is more than capable of winning this if he’s ready.
Race 6 No5 BORJINA
Trainer: Ed Bethell – Jockey: Ryan Sexton
BORJINA put in a seasonal best when second over course and distance last month. Winner of a novice at Catterick back in April, she’s progressed during her short period running in handicaps, and appeals as a filly that’s ready to win again.
KEMPTON PARK
Race 2 No9 SOUTH KENSINGTON
Trainer: Adam Kirby – Jockey: Charles Bishop
SOUTH KENSINGTON likes to race handily and get a tow into her races which is a scenario that could map out for her in this bottom grade handicap. She has the best of the draw, while a strongly run race is on the cards.
Race 3 No14 YAMANA (Each Way)
Trainer: Ralph Beckett- Jockey: Colin Keane
My eye is drawn to newcomer YAMANA for whom any market support would be significant. The daughter of Frankel is out of a talented mare who former trainer Sir Michael Stoute enjoyed notable success with. She wears a hood but that is not a concern granted she hails from the Gosden stable.
Race 7 No3 AMELIA’S JOY (Nap)
Trainer: Michael Herrington – Jockey: David Probert
AMELIA’S JOY has enjoyed a bountiful autumn racing at this track, winning and finishing second at this Class5 level. For a filly that likes to lead she’s perfectly drawn on the inside for this task in hand, and with Probert an eye taking booking can take the spoils as the best bet of the night.
