28/06/2022 – Tuesday’s Best Bets and Tips

Neil Morrice provides us with his best bets and tips for Tuesday’s race meetings at Brighton, Hamilton Park, Stratford and Chepstow on 28/06/2022.

BRIGHTON – 28/06/2022

Race 7 No3 SPANISH MANE (Nap)
Trainer: Julia Feilden – Jockey: Rose Dawes

This is a trappy card for punters but the only advice SPANISH MANE should be worth waiting for in the finale. The Havana Gold mare has built up a good association with Rose Dawes who won on her over this course and distance earlier in the month. It was the first time the selection has raced on this switchback course, and there should be more to come.

HAMILTON PARK – 28/06/2022

Race 2 No2 SHALADAR
Trainer: Kevin Ryan – Jockey: Kevin Stott

SHALADAR got home by the skin of his teeth over this course and distance earlier in the month, posting an overdue first career success in the process. The Shalaa gelding benefitted for the step up to a mile, and with his stable amongst the winners can follow up.

Race 3 No8 FRISKY (Nap)
Jockey: Simon Pearce – Jockey: William Buick

Bated Breath filly FRISKY can outpoint seven male foes as a reward for her consistency, with Buick an eye taking booking aboard her. Placed on each of three starts for her former handler last year, she’s taken away minor cheques on both 2022 starts at Pontefract and Bath, and is poised to go one better.

STRATFORD – 28/06/2022

Race 2 No5 ATLANTIC STORM (Nap)
Trainer: B Summers – Jockey: Charlie Hammond

ATLANTIC STORM couldn’t cope with Larch Hill when the pair clashed in a course and distance handicap chase last month, but at the revised weights he can turn the tables. While Larch Hill has been given a break the selection went on to score in taking style at Southwell, and has his tail up.

Race 6 No9 SHADY DAISY
Trainer: Jamie Snowden – Jockey: Kevin Brogan

SHADY DAISY put on a pleasing first career effort to trouble the judge at Newton Abbot. She stayed on well at the end of a needed first foray onto the track, and if showing normal progression holds a strong chance to open her account.

CHEPSTOW – 28/06/2022

Race 3 No6 DIAMOND COTTAGE (Each Way)
Trainer: Malcolm Saunders – Jockey: Callum Hutchinson

DIAMOND COTTAGE kept on gamely to take out a course and distance sprint last week, beating Soldier’s Son by a length. She responded positively to a first time hood to break her duck at the 28th attempt, and now in the winning groove can consolidate with another conversion.

Race 5 No7 BIRD FOR LIFE (Each Way)
Trainer: Mark Usher – Jockey: Isobel Francis

BIRD FOR LIFE can prove a deserving winner of this staying contest. The Delegator mare has grazed the crossbar in two recent all-weather starts, and has scope for progression on this rare foray onto grass.

Race 7 No8 FELLOWSHIP (Nap)
Trainer: William Knight – Jockey: David Egan

FELLOWSHIP raised his game to sneak home on handicap debut at Yarmouth on his first race on grass. He also sported a visor for the first time and in what is very much a carbon copy task can prove the best bet on the card with a follow-up triumph.
