29/06/2022 – Wednesday’s Best Bets and Tips

Neil Morrice provides us with his best bets and tips for Wednesday’s race meetings at Thirsk, Musselburgh, Bath and Kempton Park on 29/06/2022.

THIRSK – 29/06/2022

Race 1 No1 CRAVEN
Trainer: Richard Fahey – Jockey: Oisin Orr

CRAVEN can help cement this new trainer/jockey combo by opening his account on the back of a very pleasing first foray onto the track. The son of Havana Gold was a 25-1 roughie when chasing home the useful Cold Case at York and has come on a bundle for the outing.

Race 2 No6 FIERY BOND
Trainer: Michael Dods – Jockey: Connor Beasley

FIERY BOND looks to have made his way to the weaker leg of the novice stakes. In two outings for the in form Dods stable he’s progressed from finishing plum last at Redcar to narrowly failing to make the frame at Carlisle. Similar improvement should see him take home a cheque at the very least.

Race 6 No3 CAIRN GORM
Trainer: Kevin Philippart De Foy – Jockey: Cieren Fallon

CAIRN GORM numbered a Group 3 success in France as a juvenile, and though winless last season made a pleasing start for his new connections when fourth in a Class 3 at Windsor. He had a good blow afterwards and has been made fitter.

MUSSELBURGH – 29/06/202

Race 2 No1 GRACELANDS GIRL
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan

As the most experienced runner in the field, GRACELANDS GIRL is entitled to go off short for this fillies’ maiden. She’s grazed the crossbar on her last three outings, but is thoroughly genuine and just needs a change of fortune to open her account.

Race 5 No1 POET’S DAWN
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan

From the same in-form stable, POET’S DAWN looks like a winner waiting to happen.he put in his best run of the year when a staying on third and beaten in a blanket finish at Carlisle, and now receives first time cheek pieces.

BATH – 29/06/2022

Race 1 No8 PASTFACT
Trainer: Malcolm Saunders – Jockey: Rhys Clutterbuck

This stable is enjoying a purple patch with its sprinters and PASTFACT hinted with his recent near miss at Chepstow that he’s ready to step up to the plate. His conqueror Stone Circle has franked the form, and as that was the selection’s second outing of the season he has room for progression.

Race 5 No4 ZULU TRACKER
Trainer: Ed Walker – Jockey: Tom Marquand

ZULU TRACKER hasn’t done much wrong in three outings this season, failing in a tight finish to withstand Elsals at Haydock last time. He’s a horse with low mileage that’s knocked on the door, and deserves to open his account in a race that shouldn’t take much winning.

Race 7 No1 BEAU GESTE
Trainer: Tony Carroll – Jockey: David Probert

Model of consistency BEAU GESTE has the wherewithal to successfully carry joint top weight in the nightcap. He kept on gamely to take home a minor cheque at Chepstow last time, and should enjoy his first visit to the tight Bath circuit.

KEMPTON PARK – 29/06/2022

Race 4 No7 UNDER THE TWILIGHT
Trainer: Tom Ward – Jockey: William Buick

Twilight Son filly UNDER THE TWILIGHT battled all the way to the line when prevailing over this course and distance at the beginning of the month. It highlighted her preference for an all-weather surface, and if turning up,in similar form will be hard to stop in her follow-up bid.

Race 6 No6 ARLECCHINO’S GIFT
Trainer: Mark Usher – Jockey: Dane O’Neill

ARLECCHINO’S GIFT makes only a second visit to this track after earning runs on his last two starts on grass at Lingfield and Salisbury. His jockey was in the plate on each occasion, and even the combination are poorly drawn another big run is in the offing.
