Race 4 No6 SKY SAFARI

Mary Slack had much to celebrate when her smart Pina Sonata landed the Group 3 Sceptre Stakes at Doncaster on Sunday. That filly had experienced a topsy turvy season but the same can’t be said of SKY SAFARI, who is in great order coming into this Listed John Musker Stakes for distaffers. The daughter of Zoustar has carded her best form on the AW but includes soft ground winning form at this track on her CV. She takes Group 3 placed form into battle and can put the icing on a memorable week for her owner. The well travelled FAIRY GLEN brings winning form in Dubai to the table and has earned in Group 1 company in France. She looms as a major threat, while at much longer odds ASHARIBA could shake up the exotic dividends as this is her time of year, though her recent form has been underwhelming. With her stable in red hot form RHAPSODY has the enter calculations dropping back in trip after a very good run in defeat in York’s Galtres Stakes.

POINT OF CONTACT probably lost two places after his rider had to snatch up in the final strides of his race at Salisbury two weeks ago. A winner at York earlier in the season, he has a good cruising speed that should assist him in this competitive heat. ENOCH brings a two race unbeaten record to the table for John Gosden and could be a blot on the handicap, though his short odds temper enthusiasm from a value perspective.

REMI MAE has a happy knack of finding her way into the money and deserved her breakthrough success at Kempton at the start of the month. That’s boosted her confidence and she’s in a good place to consolidate now switched back onto grass.

Race 1 No2 ARDNAMURCHAN
Trainer: Henry Candy – Jockey: Nicola Currie
Windsor scorer ARDNAMURCHAN qualifies for handicaps as a winner on her second start and needs respecting as she tries to follow up in the colours of her trainer. The Ardad filly took an early bump but warmed to her task as the race developed at Windsor and was well on top at the business end. This stiff 1000 metres should bring out further improvement in an unexposed improver.
Race 2 No6 IMPERIAL NATION

Sioux Nation colt IMPERIAL NATION posted a midfield finish on his Newmarket introduction where the first three in the market dominated. He’s entitled to step up on that now stretching out to 1400 metres, and needs a serious market check in the colours of in form owner Saeed Suhail.

From the same winner academy, CHAPRON should go well from a good slot in the gate one off the rail. The Nathaniel colt has shown promise ahead of this introduction in which another son of Nathaniel, CALDO, is another worth watching for market confidence.

The featured Listed race over 1600 metres can see Make Believe colt NAHRAAN putting his best foot forward. Cut in the ground holds no perils for this lightly raced individual who makes just a third visit to the track for the season. A three times unbeaten winner as a three-year-old, he needed his first start back when having more in front of him than behind in the Wolferton (Listed) at Royal Ascot and stepped up on that for a frame finish in the Group 3 Rose Of Lancaster at Haydock. That two and threequarter lengths defeat by the very smart Sallaal is there to be improved on, and he can cause problems for paper favourite CERRO BLANCO.
Race 6 No7 BARBURY BOY (Each Way)

From a stable that’s has excelled with its middle distance handicappers, BARBURY BOY can earn. A dual scorer this year, he’s been given a select campaign which augurs well for him picking up further races through the autumn. He was just run out of it by an in form filly on the Lingfield Polytrack last time and has enjoyed a nice gap between races.

Race 3 No3 DUTY’S CALL (Nap)

Only one bet on this card but that horse DUTY’S CALL carries abundant confidence to post in the fillies’ novice. The daughter of Mehmas upped her game to finish second at Chester and if showing normal progression in first time cheek pieces should open her account.

Race 4 No2 FAIRLAWN SKIPPER (Nap)
Trainer: Mickey Bowen – Jockey: Shane Fenelon
FAIRLAWN SKIPPER makes a quick reappearance after going down narrowly over hurdles at Sedgefield on Monday and should make his stay in the North worthwhile. He’s tackling a shorter trip for a first outing over fences for which he has schooled well at home.
Race 6 No2 CAPE WARRIOR
Trainer: Micky Hammond – Jockey: Sean Bowen
Bowen is an eye taking booking for CAPE WARRIOR, who finished second in two bumpers in the spring and might have collected over this track had he been sent to the front later. This looks a very good opening for the Ulysses gelding.
