AYR
Race 5 No6 EMPIRICAL (Nap)
Trainer: Ed Walker – Jockey: Kieran Shoemark
Lambourn to Ayr is a long way to go for a seaside excursion and I sense EMPIRICAL makes that journey on a mission. He made a second start in handicap company into an eight lengths demolition job and with blinkers now added could find the extra required to defy a huge hike of 10lbs.
Race 6 No9 SIXCOR (Each Way)
Trainer: Linda Perratt – Jockey: Tom Kiely-Marshall
SIXCOR should at least trouble the judge off bottom weight in this 1000 metres sprint. His frame finish at Hamilton last time was an indication that he’s on the way back.
SOUTHWELL
Race 1 No6 EASWRITH DESTINY
Trainer: David Menuisier – Jockey: Rab Havlin
Several in form horses clash in the opener but EASWRITH DESTINY might be a good value option against them. He started 150-1 when second at Salisbury and that good effort secured his mark for this first run in a handicap.
Race 2 No5 TURRET
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: PJ McDonald
TURRET was allowed to start at 11-1 when scoring at Carlisle and can now prove there was no fluke about the triumph. He’s a beautifully bred colt by Kingman who should relish a much longer trip today.
Race 3 No14 SERAGLIO POINT (Each Way)
Trainer: Hughie Morrison – Jockey: Tom Marquand
Morrison is double handed and while TINSEL has an outside chance SERAGLIO POINT is one to watch in the betting as his podium finish at Ffos Las is there to be built on.
Race 4 No2 SAGREMOR
Trainer: David Menuisier – Jockey: Sean Levey
SAGREMOR returns from a mid season break as a fresh horse, and while no star can step up on a good earning tun at Haydock to get into the shake-up.
Race 5 No3 RISING TIGER (Nap)
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: PJ McDonald
RISNG TIGER brings Ascot form to the table after chasing home Dr Rascal there earlier in the month. While the cash that came his way went west, it was a long way back to the third, suggesting the Nap caught a tartar. He’s worked well subsequently and this should be well within his compass.
RIPON
Race 5 No4 DAYDREAMA (Each Way)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan
DAYDREAMA is carded as the Easterby second string behind BEYOND THE BAR but shouldn’t be underestimated. While nowhere near his best in recent outings a repeat of his York run when second in a Class 3 at the May meeting would put him in this with every chance.
WINDSOR
Race 3 No5 HARRY KNOWS (Nap)
Trainer: Richard Hughes – Jockey: Oisin Murphy
First time cheek pieces can assist HARRY KNOWS to a deserved first career success. The gelding has finished second on three from four starts and if running close to his recent Salisbury form should be good enough.
Race 4 No6 FOREVER GLAMOROUS
Trainer: Christopher Mason – Jockey: Gina Mangan
FOREVER GLAMOROUS opened his account at Ffos Las and now takes a step up the ladder in a race he and SOLAR INVINCIBLE can dominate. The selection might be better suited by this 1200 metres trip than his opponent.
Race 5 No6 WILLEM TWEE (Each Way)
Trainer: Denis Coakley – Jockey: George Bass
Though not as good as he was, WILLEM TWEE has troubled the judge on his last two starts and now returns from a break under the tutelage of a different trainer. The change of scenery should benefit the seven-year-old, who is well drawn for this sprint.
