Race 2 No7 SHAQRA QUEEN

Those that have run in this maiden don’t light up the sky and it might be worth backing SHAQRA QUEEN to deliver at the first time of asking. The daughter of Holy Roman Emperor enjoys a nice middle slot in the gate and represents top connections, who have a very good record here.
Race 3 No7 BRADBURY (Each Way)
Trainer: Ed Bethell – Jockey: Billy Loughnane
BRADBURY proved easy to back when failing to handle a class hop at Beverley but ran better than his finishing position indicates. This mercurial character is just preferred to MOUNT KING, who did this column a favour when returning to winning form last week but doesn’t always run two races alike.
Race 4 a No3 POINT LYNAS (Nap)
Trainer: Ed Bethell – Jockey: Callum Rodriguez
The featured Pomfret Stakes can go to POINT LYNAS who has a winning history in the contest and looked on the way back when troubling the judge in a warmer handicap at York in the spring. Granted his liking for Pontefract and the drop in grade, there’s every chance the seven-year-old can come out on top.
Race 6 No2 BULLINGTON BRY
Trainer: Jessica Macey – Jockey: Lewis Edmunds
BULLINGTON BRY returned to form on a first run out of this stable when second in first time blinkers at Leicester. The money was down on the gelding, who with the headgear retained should make a bold bid to go be better and recoup those losses.
UTTOXETER
Race 4 No3 GRAND CLERMONT (Nap)
Trainer: David Pipe – Jockey: Rian Corcoran
GRAND CLERMONT finished fourth in the Summer Cup here but has subsequently scored easily at Perth. The former French trained gelding is capable of turning the tables with IMPERIAL ALEX and can prevent that rival from completing a hat-trick.
