YARMOUTH

Race 5 No4 TILANI (Nap)
Trainer: Ian Williams – Jockey: Jack Dace

I like the way the white-faced TILANI put the race to bed in an apprentices’ race at Newbury last week where he travelled well, before quickening at the finish. It marked a career best effort for the Belardo gelding, who is in the mood to keep the ball rolling.

AYR

Race 2 No4 SIVIEZ (Nap)
Trainer: Grant Tuer – Jockey: Oliver Stammers

SIVIEZ is no star, although she was noted keeping on well to put in her best work at the finish at Catterick last week. Having troubled the judge there, she can go forward again, but is not one of the stronger bets of the day.

FFOS LAS

Race 2 No3 ONE KNIGHT (Nap)
Trainer: Emma Lavelle – Jockey: Cameron Johnstone

This has cut up nicely for ONE KNIGHT, who after landing some good bets in style at Hereford found the Aintree Bumper asking him to run before he could walk. He’s schooled well over practice obstacles at home, while this better ground suits him.

Race 6 No6 FOREST SPIRIT
Trainer: Mickey Bowen – Jockey: James Bowen

First time cheek pieces can assist FOREST SPIRIT to a first success under Rules. The five-year-old put in a career best as a 25-1 roughie here a month ago, and if progressing from it should trouble the best of these.

WARWICK

Race 2 No4 TOM DESJY (Nap)
Trainer: Warren Greatrex – Jockey: Sean Bowen

TOM DESJY upped his game under an enterprising ride at Southwell where he literally jumped his opponents into the ground. A 7lb penalty would in normal circumstances seem a tough barrier to further success, but he was well worth his margin of victory and can follow-up.

Race 3 No1 FULL FORCE GALE
Trainer: Tom George – Jockey: Jonathan Burke

In what should prove a tactical affair, FULL FORCE GALE is the one to beat. His last two starts have signalled a marked improvement from the gelding who looked to score with a bit in hand over the course and distance last time. A 5lb rise might not stop him.

Race 4 No2 CHAMPAGNE TWIST (Each Way)
Trainer: Ben Pauling – Jockey: Ben Jones

CHAMPAGNE TWIST has become a bit of a project for his trainer after failing to live up to his early promise. He comes with risks attached, but on the credit side of the ledger he’s dropped to a workable mark, while he’s happy on this better ground.

Race 6 No4 UNJEU ROYAL
Trainer: Tom Lacey – Jockey: Stan Sheppard

There’s plenty to like about UNJEU ROYAL who beat a previous winner at Plumpton last time, for which he’s been raised 5lb. It needs to be factored in that he was making his handicap debut and produced a much improved display. He’s a worthy favourite for this and should win again.

KEMPTON PARK

Race 4 No12 QUICK TURN (Nap)
Trainer: Ian Williams – Jockey: Rossa Ryan

QUICK TURN left previous form behind when being backed into favouritism and storming home at Wolverhampton. Taking stock of who he is trained by there should be plenty more in the tank to counter his rise in the weights, while he’s also assisted by a plum draw on the rail.

Race 7 No7 KIRKDALE
Trainer: Ed Bethell – Jockey: Callum Rodriguez

Hat-trick seeking KIRKDALE can maintain his hot streak on the journey down from North Yorkshire. The visored gelding enjoys a plum draw three off the fence on a first visit to the Sunbury-On-Thames venue. He knows how to win, and is ready for the move up the ladder into a Class4.

Race 8 No8 DOTTIES STAR (Each Way)
Trainer: Pat Phelan – Jockey: James Glennon

DOTTIES STAR proved a handy winner for us at Lingfield back in March when returned at 16-1. She failed to fare as well at this course the following month, but didn’t enjoy the rub that night, while in fact she was staying on at the finish. The selection will be a working man’s’ price here, and deserves the chance to bounce back.
