CHEPSTOW

Race 2 No1 DELIGHTFULLY HOT
Trainer: James Owen – Jockey: Billy Loughnane

This looks a good card for favourites, which though not usually my bag do need to be accommodated today. DELIGHTFULLY HOT can set the ball rolling by taking out this fillies’ maiden. She has the pick of the draw and after near misses at Wolverhampton and Sandown brings the best form to the table.

Race 3 No2 GROVE STREET (Nap)
Trainer: Brian Meehan – Jockey: Joe Leavy

GROVE STREET absolutely flew when the penny dropped on hitting the rising ground at Sandown. He chased home a sharper previous winner but would have won in another 50 yards. I can’t remember Meehan equipping a horse with a shadow roll but the noseband undoubtedly assisted my Nap on that first outing, and he can go one better.

Race 5 No6 HONKY TONK GIRL
Trainer: Oliver Cole – Jockey: Billy Loughnane

Loughnane enjoys his customary good book of rides of which HONKY TONK GIRL rates a live winning chance. She has improved from race to race and put in a career best to open her account at Bath. She can make the most of the 10lb she receives from paper favourite ROGUE EXILE.

LINGFIELD PARK

Race 2 No10 ROMOTOSO (Nap)
Trainer: William Knight – Jockey: Taylor Fisher

ROMOTOSO sets the standard after a highly encouraging start to her career at Doncaster where the Lope Y Fernandez filly showed a good attitude to keep on for a frame finish without being touched with the whip. That consideration can pay dividends in this more straightforward assignment.

Race 8 No7 VON KROLOCK (Each Way)
Trainer: James Owen – Jockey: Christian Howarth

VON KROLOCK can usually be relied on to attracted the judge’s attention and what’s interesting is that this is his first visit to Lingfield on a 14th start since joining Owen. While yet to win on Polytrack in the UK, this looks a good opportunity as he shaped like a horse on the cusp of a return to winning ways when second at Leicester last month.

WOLVERHAMPTON

Race 1 No1 FRANSCHOEK (Nap)
Trainer: James Fanshawe – Jockey: Kaiya Fraser

Saxon Warrior gelding FRANSCHOEK passed four horses in the final furlong when claiming a minor podium finish on his Kempton introduction. Not only was it a highly encouraging effort, but it suggested he was crying out for the longer trip he encounters today.

Race 4 No9 SUNSHINE AND ROSES
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: Rose Dawes

SUNSHINE AND ROSES stayed on strongly to score here over the same trip last month and did nothing wrong when second on a switch to turf at Haydock. She’s drawn close to paper favourite SAMRA STAR, and in receipt of 11lb from that opponent can beat him.

Race 5 No4 SARGENT DENNIS
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: Edward Greatrex

Channon fields another live chance in the shape of SARGENT DENNIS, whose disappointing effort at Doncaster happened after a near three month absence. He’d previously won at Windsor and gone close in two AW maidens. If as suspected he needed the Town Moor race he can give the best of these plenty to think about.

Race 6 No7 HEROICS (Each Way)
Trainer: Alan King – Jockey: Oisin Murphy

HEROICS has been selectively campaigned through two seasons racing in which the only time he failed to trouble the judge was on his latest start at Newmarket. The Sandown winner was making a big step up the class ladder that day, and will surely be more comfortable operating back in a Class5 here.
