LEICESTER

Race 4 No2 DOTTIE DIAMOND (Nap)
Trainer: William Stone – Jockey: Rob Hornby

DOTTIE DIAMOND carded a bottom grade first career success at Southwell in which her 25-1 delivery looked in the bag some way out. It signalled a big step up for the Castle Bay filly, who now back in a handicap can show it was no fluke.

Race 5 No2 LOPE Y LINDA
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: Sean Kirrane

Apart from a rare blip at Beverley, LOPE Y LINDA has done her connections proud with two successes and three frame finishes in seven starts this season. On her furthest venture south of her North Yorkshire stable she can underline he well being with another conversion.

Race 6 No4 HOT SILK (Each Way)
Trainer: James Fanshawe – Jockey: Saffie Osborne

A victory for HOT SILK would massively increase her value in the breeding sheds as she’s a daughter of champion miler Too Darn Hot out of a mare (Silk Sari) who landed the Group 2 Park Hill Stakes. She has it to do based on three moderate efforts this season, but granted her blue blooded pedigree there might be punting mileage in her as she steps back to a mile and a quarter in a second handicap run.

Race 7 No1 BULLINGTON BOY (Each Way)
Trainer: Joey Ramsden – Jockey: Lewis Edmunds

BULLINGTON BOY is one that floats my boat now dropped into a classified and equipped with first time blinkers. It’s only his third start on grass since joining his trainer and he needs to improve, but in this company there’s every chance he can.

FFOS LAS

Race 3 No7 STAR VELOCITY (Nap)
Trainer: Ralph Beckett – Jockey: Rossa Ryan

STAR VELOCITY went for a walk in the market before delivering a promising first effort behind Town Queen at Southwell where she stayed on strongly inside the final 200 metres. In the colours of Fitri Hay she rates the best bet on this card, as there should be plenty of improvement to come.

Race 6 No3 MEET ME IN MERAKI
Trainer: David Evans – Jockey: Rossa Ryan

Ryan has a good record when teaming up with the Evans stable and on MEET ME IN MERAKI he can further enhance it. The selection has made the podium on each of two past visits to this track, including when returning from a lay off last month. It should have put him spot on.

BEVERLEY

Race 3 No4 TAMZAN (Nap)
Trainer: Marcus Tregoning – Jockey: Oisin Orr

Tregoning is respected with his runners at this course and the same goes for TAMZAN, for whom this race has cut up favourably. The Time Test filly not only broke her maiden at this track but is going to appreciate moving up to a mile and a quarter with a stiff finish at the end of it.

WOLVERHAMPTON

Race 1 No6 SHANGRI LA
Trainer: David Simcock – Jockey: Marco Ghiani

This is quite an open affair but preference is for SHANGRI LA. She’s making a belated entry to the stage but earned in each of her races for owner Kirsten Rausing in 2025, looking the type of filly that should pay her way when going down the handicap route.

Race 2 No10 SUGAR SUGAR (Each Way)
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: George Bass

Named after a 1970s number one smash it, SUGAR SUGAR hasn’t been blessed with a favourable draw but having troubled the judge on second start is in a good place from which to build, and she’s been going nicely at home.

Race 3 No5 AIGEAS (Nap)
Trainer: Oliver Cole – Jockey: Harry Davies

Formerly a useful performer in France, AIGEAS trotted up on handicap debut at Kempton. He’s been thumped with a 10lb rise but can prove by following up that there was no fluke element to that 16-1 delivery.

Race 4 No11 MARTINET (Each Way)
Trainer: Sir Mark Prescott – Jockey: Luke Morris

Although she will improve for this first run, MARTINET needs considering in lieu of her top class chart. The daughter of Frankel and Group winning mare Coronet will be a danger to all if she’s inherited a portion of her parents’ ability, though her high draw means she has more to do to get a run.
