BRIGHTON

Race 1 – INTERCESSOR 5/2

INTERCESSOR won decisively attempting 1m at the venue and is now raised to a career-high mark.

Remains unexposed tackling this trip and may go close again in the Donatello Brighton Italian Restaurant Donatello.Co.Uk Apprentice Handicap.

Uncle Dick was a very comfortable winner here recently. Finds something harder and could prove competitive from this mark.

Course and distance winner Benham boasts appealing credentials on seasonal return. Handles all types of ground and been in the mix against tougher in the past.

Poetic Force is just 1.1lb higher than when winning here last summer. Race fitness on side.

Race 4 – NEW HEIGHTS 13/2

NEW HEIGHTS bids for a hat-trick after a pair of 1m1/2f victories at Epsom last season.

Previously won tackling this longer trip and will be in the mix in the British Stallion Studs Ebf Fillies’ Handicap.

The unexposed Zayina shed her maiden at this track and is strongly respected making handicap debut.

The African Queen is another unexposed contender managing to win at this venue before.

Race 5 – TENYATTA 7/2

TENYATTA is an ex-Jamie Osborne runner who can go well for James Owen in the Old Ship Brightons Oldest Hotel Handicap.

She made a perfect start for Owen when winning at Wolverhampton last month after changing hands for 8,000 guineas in March, but raised 3lb she could not quite get there when third a week ago.

She was staying on that day and it is interesting Owen has opted to jump to 10 furlongs from seven.

Race 7 – SCRAMBLE 5/1

SCRAMBLE has maintained good form on the all-weather and remains unexposed after just five turf outings.

A winner at Kempton in February and fourth from this mark since, so rates a likely chance in the Brightons Antiques, Collectables And Vintage Fair Handicap.

Course winner Firenze Rosa often goes well after a break and is handicapped to be competitive.

One Hart disappointed at Leicester last weekend. Fitted with first-time blinkers and a promising apprentice takes some weight off. Dangerous to dismiss.

Voodoo Ray holds a good record here. Might come on for this first run of the year.
