SEDGEFIELD

Race 1 No2 FOSTER’S FORTUNE (Nap)
Trainer: Chris Grant – Jockey: Conor Rabbit

FOSTER’S FORTUNE can play a useful experience card in this conditional jockeys’ handicap hurdle, having scored over the course and distance earlier in the year. He’s troubled the judge in two subsequent starts and looks the safest option to start the day on a high note in the opener.

Race 6 No11 BLENDED STEALTH
Trainer: Lizzie Quinlan – Jockey: Charlie Maggs

A pea out of the same pod is BLENDED STEALTH. He’s been hugely consistent in lighting up the board in each of his six outings since undergoing a breathing operation last winter. His problem is that he’s a 31-race maiden, and needs to find a touch more to belatedly open his account.

MARKET RASEN

Race 4 No2 EYED (Nap)
Trainer: Hughie Morrison – Jockey: David Bass

EYED put in a solid first run for Morrison when second to Camino Rocio at Wincanton. That followed a close season wind operation which appears to have worked, and he should do well for owner Martin Hughes as long as he’s kept to the minor tracks.

Race 6 No8 HAPPY INDEX
Trainer: Olly Murphy – Jockey: Sean Bowen

Like Eyed, HAPPY INDEX is another remnant of Paul Webber’s training operation. She’s enjoying a change of scenery, demonstrated by her second at Fontwell and clear cut success at Perth. This is a more competitive race, but she’s weighted to be in the mix under title-chasing Bowen.

TAUNTON

Race 3 No1 KAUTO THE KING (Nap)
Trainer: Joe Tizzard – Jockey: Brendan Powell

The experiment of running handicap chaser KAUTO THE KING back over hurdles in novice company can pay off for a Tizzard stable that’s just running into form. The selection brings a rating of 110 to the table and can upset paper favourite Tuxedo Junction in what can prove to be a strictly two horse affair.

Race 4 No3 ALEXEI
Trainer: Joe Tizzard – Jockey: Brendan Powell

In colours synonymous with some good jumpers over the years, ALEXEI can score on this debut under Rules. He’s a four times winner in Germany, has shaped well in preparation for this and could have too much speed for his foes in a race that’s cut up favourably for him.

CHELMSFORD CITY

Race 3 No8 ARCTIC DAWN (Nap)
Trainer: Daniel Kubler – Jockey: Richard Kingscote

One that jumps off the page in this race around a lap of the track is ARCTIC DAWN. The Blue Pint colt represents a Doncaster race that has worked out well, and his frame finish on that handicap debut is there to be improved upon on what is only the fifth race of his life.

Race 6 No6 HAPPY TEARS
Trainer: Daniel Kubler – Jockey: Richard Kingscote

Dandy Man filly HAPPY TEARS has done well in three outings since joining Kubler which include a winner over this evening’s terrain in the late summer. The blinkered selection claimed a podium finish in a soft ground Bath handicap to mirror her versatility, and another earning run looks in store.
