GOODWOOD

Race 2 No1 MY A’ALI BABA
Trainer: David Evans – Jockey: Saffie Osborne

MY A’ALI BABA defied his paddock appearance when cosily landing the spoils on his debut at Chepstow for which he incurred a 4lb penalty. Granted how green he ran, that shouldn’t stop him consolidating and he can remain unbeaten on the way to better things.

Race 3 No2 UNDERCOVER AFFAIR
Trainer: David Evans – Jockey: Billy Loughnane

Evans holds strong claims again in this humble seller with UNDERCOVER AFFAIR. The selection has earned in each of his four outings which gives him an experience edge over his foes. The presence of Loughnane is an added bonus.

Race 5 No5 HERMETIC (Each Way)
Trainer: Ian Williams – Jockey: Billy Loughnane

HERMETIC notched two successes in the French provinces before his move to Williams and he was in the money again when fourth on his debut for the trainer at York. Easy to back n that occasion, he almost certainly needed the race, while the grey will enjoy stretching out to the Cup distance on testing conditions that won’t faze him.

Race 6 No1 HAMISH
Trainer: William Haggas – Jockey: Tom Marquand

Although he’s opposed by much younger legs, ten-year-old HAMISH is hard to oppose when there’s juice in the ground and he will love the softening conditions on this seasonal return. He took out the Group 3 St Simon Stakes on his final 2025 outing, while he’s unbeaten in two visits to this course.

Race 7 No4 BLUE PRINCE (Nap)
Trainer: David Evans – Jockey: Saffie Osborne

A horse that has a ‘ready to win’ appeal is BLUE PRINCE, who should prove a bet worth waiting for in the nightcap. The five-year-old notched a career highlight when scoring at the 2024 Qatar Festival here, and while he’s not added to his tally in 16 subsequent outings there was much to like about his earning run at Kempton last month. He remains at his optimum trip of 1400 metres and has in form pilot Saffie Osborne back in his saddle.

PERTH

Race 3 No2 KING SACRE (Nap)
Trainer: Nigel Hawke – Jockey: James Davies

KING SACRE is dangerous when making the long trek north from his West Country base at Tiverton, as he demonstrated when scoring at Hexham last month. It was a much improved display in which the six-year-old came home unchallenged and he’s in the mood to follow-up.

Race 5 No8 STANS THE MAN
Trainer: Ella Pickard – Jockey: Ben Godfrey

The featured Perth Gold Cup can see STANS THE MAN building on his podium finish at Fakenham. Although a beaten favourite that day it was an encouraging effort from the nine-year-old, who can cope with a return to a much shorter trip.
