KEMPTON PARK

Race 2 No3 MIGHTY MOTH
Trainer: Noel Williams – Jockey: Robbie Dunne

MIGHTY MOTH was last seen contesting a Class2 hurdle at Kelso in May at the end of a season that was restricted by training issues. She landed some good bets on her reappearance in that campaign and should be ready fitness-wise for this switch to fences.

Race 4 No2 STONER’S CHOICE (Nap)
Trainer: Ben Case – Jockey: Max Kendrick

STONER’S CHOICE skipped an opportunity last week to wait for more suitable ground for his return from an absence of 19 months. He’s won on his last two visits to this course, in a novice chase and a handicap hurdle, and should find that experience a big help to him on this second crack at fences.

CARLISLE

Race 1 No1 PIC ROC (Nap)
Trainer: Ben Pauling – Jockey: Ben Jones

PIC ROC is an exciting recruit to fences who should have no trouble confirming his hurdling superiority over Asta La Pasta on this switch of racing disciple. He’s a grand stamp of a horse who has schooled well and will enjoy the galloping nature of this track with its steep hill finish.

Race 2 No7 NO QUESTIONS ASKED
Trainer: Ben Pauling – Jockey: Ben Jones

For the same trainer/jockey combo, NO QUESTIONS ASKED can take out this first leg of the maiden hurdle. TheAsk gelding brings some smart bumper form to the table, has taken well to jumping hurdles at home and should make no mistake.

Race 5 No1 NELLS SON
Trainer: Nicky Richards – Jockey: Danny McMenamin

Any of the four in this graduation chase could take the spoils and in that instance, the reaction is to look for value. Locally trainer NELLS SON is carded to go off the outsider but he won on his only chase outing at this course whilst also picking up a decent prize at Kelso. He’s shown he can win first time back and is worth chancing to cause a minor upset.

NEWCASTLE

Race 6 No4 ZUFFOLO (Nap)
Trainer: Michael Dods – Jockey: Clifford Lee

ZUFFOLO has put together an 8mpressive earning sequence that reads 314412. A winner here at the same time in 2023, he was beaten in a photo on his switch from grass to the Tapeta surface last month, and on a percentage call is probably the one most likely to reproduce his recent form.

WOLVERHAMPTON

Race 6 No7 BOY GEORGE (Each Way)
Trainer: Dominic Ffrench Davis – Jockey: Liam Keniry

BOY GEORGE was compromised by a wide draw when suffering a heavy defeat on his return to Polytrack at Kempton last month. A dual scorer on grass in the summer, he’s capable of making a bold big from the front from his better drawn today, while if he’s near his paper price (20-1) that would tempt me to have a speculative bet on him.

Race 7 No8 ALTANERA (Nap)
Trainer: David Simcock – Jockey: Joey Haynes

ALTANERA is 4lb higher than when convincingly opening her account over a mile and threequarters here. The Oasis Dream filly was showing no signs of stopping, and now further raised on the trip ladder can win again.
