Wednesday’s Best Bets and Tips- 24/08/2022

Neil Morrice provides us with his best bets for Wednesday’s racing at Catterick Bridge, Lingfield Park, Musselburgh, Sedgefield and Kempton Park on 24/08/2022.

CATTERICK BRIDGE – 24/08/2022

Race 1 No4 PREMIER OPTION ( Nap)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan

From a midfield finish when 100-1 on his Thirsk debut, PREMIER OPTION made great strides to be beaten by a diminishing inch at Ripon. He will now be fully primed, and can open his account at he main expense of Delerious Dream?

Race 5 No2 WADE’S MAGIC
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan

The same trainer/ jockey combo can double up with WADE’S MAGIC,who is not only running into form but has a perfect draw from which to gain a handy early position in this 1200 metres sprint. The grey enjoys a swing in the weights with Rain Cap, who beat him a length and a half here last week, and can take his revenge.

LINGFIELD PARK – 24/08/2022

Race 1 No5 BIRD FOR LIFE (Each Way)
Trainer: Mark Usher – Jockey: Miss Megan Jordan

BITD FOR LIFE shaped like a mare coming to hand when troubling the judge at Kempton and has shown on several occasions that she responds well to female handling in her races. Her rider is inexperienced but the pair could easily have a say in this amateur jockeys’ handicap.

Race 3 No5 HEARTBREAK LASS (Nap)
Trainer: Henry Candy – Jockey: Dane O’Neill

This combination were cruelly denied with Penguin Island at Chepstow but HEARTBREAK LASS should make no mistake. The Cotai Glory filly gave a more experienced foe plenty to think about on debut at Windsor and she’s worked well on an all-weather surface at home.

Race 4 No1 KENILWORTH KING
Trainer: William Jarvis – Jockey: Kieran Shoemark

American-bred KENILWORTH KING stepped up from previous efforts to take home a minor cheque on handicap debut at Wolverhampton. He was agonisingly denied by a nose after attracting support, and should now build on that to post a first career success off top weight in what looks a weak heat.

MUSSELBURGH – 24/08/2022

Race 6 No5 CARACRISTI (Nap)
Trainer: Phil Kirby – Jockey: Mandi Patzelt

At the end of a tough card for betting, CARACRISTI and City Vaults bring similar profiles to the table but the former should enjoy an edge if running to the level of form she’s produced on her last couple of outings when winning at Thirsk and finishing second at Newcastle.

SEDGEFIELD – 24/08/2022

Race 4 No1 TONTO’S SPIRIT (Nap)
Trainer: Dianne Sayer – Jockey: Conor O’Farrell

The ground has played its part in reducing field sizes, but TONTO’S SPIRIT loves to hear his feet rattle and should be spot on to post a first victory on a year following a warm up,outing on the Flat. A winner over hurdles and fences at this track, he gets on like a house on fire with his jockey, and the combination can halt the impressive winning run of Cawthorne.

KEMPTON PARK – 24/08/2022

Race 3 No6 KADIMA IMPERIAL
Trainer: Heather Main – Jockey: Ray Dawson

From a yard amongst the winners, KADIMA IMPERIAL looks a sure fire improver on handicap debut. Though beating only one home she went down by only two lengths to Days Like This at Chepstow. The run gained the grey a mark, and her trainer looks to have found a weak race for her.

Race 5 No2 WHIMSY (Nap)
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: Callum Hutchinson

WHIMSY has been on the case with back-to back successes at Salisbury and is unbeaten on turf. Back on Polytrack the chestnut can complete a fine hat-trick, at the main expense of Chips And Rice.
