DONCASTER

Race 1 No8 CHARLIE MASON
Trainer: Tony Carroll – Jockey: Myla Coppins

CHARLIE MASON has very good course form and can make it win number three on Town Moor following his cosy success at the end of last month. On identical underfoot conditions the five-year-old will receive good assistance from the saddle from his revised mark, and can follow up.

Race 4 No5 BLADEY LADY (Nap)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan

BLADEY LADY has a great chance of making this nursery a fifth success from her last six starts in what has been a bountiful autumn for the Minzaal filly. While she’s shown a preference for a sharp track she’s riding the rest of a wave and probably hasn’t stopped improving.

Race 7 No2 CASTLE COVE (Each Way)
Trainer: William Haggas – Jockey: Cieren Fallon

The last major handicap of the 2026 Flat season can see CASTLE COVE making up for lost time. This is a belated first run of the season for the five-year-old who interestingly won on both his first and last appearances last year, including in this race. Haggas is a master at pulling off a training feat with a problematic horse and he has surely laid the selection out for this one day. In what isn’t the strongest renewal I shall include the lightly-raced ALFRED WNCHAM in all exotics as he very easily landed some good bets at York on only his second run in a handicap. He’s definitely one to have a saver on.

Race 8 No2 CRESTOFDISTINCTION (Each Way)
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: George Bass

CRESTOFDISTINCTION came out of the wilderness to trouble the judge on his latest of only four outings this season at. His trainer has picked the last chance saloon for him to put one on the board, but as a fresh and fairly treated horse he’s more than capable of it.

AINTREE

Race 2 No3 PETIT TONNERRE (Each Way)
Trainer: Jonjo O’Neill – Jockey: Harry Cobden

Although a far from obvious choice PETIT TONNERRE has slipped to a tempting mark for this first outing of the season. In a select campaign the eight-year-old kept good company in handicap chases with a solid run at the Aintree Grand National meeting in April the highlight from just five outings. Owner JP McManus’s retained jockey Cobden takes the reins for the first time.

Race 4 BOODLES RISING STARS NOVICES’ CHASE (Grade 2)

No6 TAURUS BAY (Nap)
Trainer: Ben Pauling – Jockey: Ben Jones

TALK TO THE MAN and NO DRAMA THIS END will dominate the market for a cracking renewal but at longer odds TAURUS BAY is worth considering. The former pointer winner underwhelmed in a Grade 1 novices’ hurdle at the Festival in March but his earlier form was impressive. The Pauling yard is yet to really hit gear, but he could be the one to ignite it.

Race 6 No3 IMPERIAL SAINT
Trainer: Philip Hobbs – Jockey: Callum Pritchard

With his excellent record at this track, the eye is drawn to IMPERIAL SAINT in this two and a half mile handicap chase. From six visits to Merseyside the selection is a three times winner, whilst finishing second in a valuable three miles handicap chase at last year’s Grand National fixture. Last seen running in the Grand National itself in April, when he failed to get the trip, the eight-year-old has done plenty of work ahead of this seasonal bow.

UTTOXETER

Race 5 No5 MINNIEMUM (Nap)
Trainer: Henry Daly – Jockey: David Bass

Carded to start as the outsider of five, MINNIEMUM could defy her long odds on a first chasing visit to this course. The three times winner over fences enjoys a healthy weights concession from MOLTO BENE which can enable her to make a race of it with the favourite.

KELSO

Race 1 No5 THEY’RE CHANCERS (Nap)
Trainer: Nicky Richards – Jockey: Danny McMenamin

The Richards stable saw a couple of reverses on Thursday but it fields a fascinating contender for the opener here with THEY’RE CHANCERS. The lightly raced bumper winner has a long lay off to overcome, but before going onto the sidelines he looked a potentially smart prospect, running a cracker in defeat on his only hurdling start at Kelso. Fitness will count for everything today, meaning a market check is essential.

Race 6 No3 KITTY’S LIGHT
Trainer: Christian Williams – Jockey: Kielan Woods

Ten-year-old KITTY’S LIGHT has dropped to a tempting mark. The former Bet365 Gold Cup winner showed glimpses of his old ability when last seen at Fakenham back in April and if ready for this can outstay his three opponents.

SOUTHWELL

Race 6 No7 MARCH OF TIME (Nap)
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: Rob Hornby

MARCH OF TIME has shown improvement in three starts since joining Channon. His latest offering, when second at Yarmouth, saw him finish strongly. Back on the AW here and with good assistance from the saddle he can make it a winning first visit to Southwell.
