Race 2 No4 APOLLO ONE (Each Way)
Trainer: Peter Charalambous – Jockey: Danny Tudhope
APOLLO ONE might be getting longer in the tooth but he’s slipped to an attractive mark and strikes me as a horse who could bounce back in an admittedly ultra competitive sprint. His hold up tactics should prove advantageous as a lightning gallop is guaranteed.
Race 3 SKY BET STAKES (Group 1)
No3 DANCING GEMINI (Each Way)
Trainer: Roger Teal – Jockey: Kieran Shoemark
Carded to go off the outsider of five, this is a Group 1 that’s within the capability of DANCING GEMINI if he can rediscover his best form. The Judy is out as to whether he gets a mile and a quarter, though he definitely got it when fifth in the longer Betfred Derby two years ago and at his price could be worth chancing.
Race 6 No6 CALIBAN
Trainer: Ed Bethell – Jockey: PJ McDonald
CALIBAN returns from a break following a winning spree on the all-weather earlier in the year. He’s fresh and well for this attempt to complete a hat-trick.
CHESTER
Race 2 No3 WOODSTOCK
Trainer: Ruth Carr – Jockey: Jason Hart
WOODSTOCK didn’t get the best of rides at Thirsk but showed when troubling the judge over this trip at Catterick that he’s on the cusp of a return to winning ways. For this race round a lap of the Roodee he’s drawn the favoured rail.
Race 6 No6 BREAK THE BANK (Nap)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: Sean Kirrane
BREAK THE BANK derives a change of luck after listing near misses at Ayr and Hamilton. It’s been two years since his last win, but with the rub of the green he can thwart paper favourite SEVEN SISTERS.
SALISBURY
Race 3 No6 MAID IN DEVON (Nap)
Trainer: Rod Millman – Jockey: Hector Crouch
The bang in form MAID IN DEVON is versatile ground wise and knows how to win. That was evident when she inched home to comp,eteva fine hat-trick at Chepstow. From 2lb higher she can extend her winning sequence.
Race 5 No4 TRAVELING MAN
Trainer: Charlie Fellowes – Jockey: Mason Paetel
On his handicap bow TRAVELING MAN is worth a market check. He underwhelmed at Yarmouth but that was on different ground than he encounters this evening, while there was an element of promise in his previous run.
