AYR
Race 3 No1 IMPERIAL GUARD (Nap)
Trainer: Michael Dods – Jockey: Danny Tudhope
IMPERIAL GUARD raised the crossbar when winning easily over course and distance last week. He’s out to strike while the iron’s hot and can dominate this weak bottom grade contest for a stable amongst the winners.
CARTMEL
Race 5 No4 LE MALIN (Nap)
Trainer: Sean McParlan – Jockey: Mr Noel McParlan
Veteran LE MALIN was last seen scoring at Down Royal and is fascinating on his trip from Ireland on a first start since Boxing Day 2024. Although his only previous foray to these shores saw him perform poorly he’s more than capable of winning this if in the same form as when last seen.
Race 6 No2 KRAK
Trainer: Dan Skelton- Jockey: Harry Skelton
KRAK underwhelmed on debut for the Skeltons at Newton Abbot but on this second outing following wind surgery he can make an impact. He didn’t go unbacked on that occasion and should be seen to much better effect in this well contested affair.
BEVERLEY
Race 4 No9 ALICE’S INFLUENCE (Nap)
Trainer: David Evans – Jockey: PJ McDonald
Consistency is the hallmark of ALICE’S INFLUENCE, who since coring at Wetherby in the spring has earned in each of five subsequent outings. Her trainer now adds blinkers which can assist the filly to another podium finish.
Race 6 No4 KITSUNE POWER (Each Way)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan
An Easterby should claim this 2000 metres handicap and at the respective prices Tim’s KITSUNE POWER so preferred to Mick’s hat-trick seeker SHIMMERING SANDS. The selection posted a first success in more than two years in a Class6 at Beverley, and while inconsistent he has the same jockey doing the steering.
WINDSOR
Race 3 No4 LORD D’OR (Nap)
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: Oisin Murphy
LORD D’OR was run out of it close home after being backed from odds against to odds on at Thirsk. The first two home finished well clear of the remainder and key to the Nap’s chance tonight is that he’s stretching out to a more suitable mile and a quarter.
Race 5 No2 SUNSHINE STAR
Trainer: John Gosden – Jockey: William Buick
SUNSHINE STAR drew clear when opening her account at Lingfield and looks the type of filly that can add to her laurels now going down the handicap route. She’s up against a couple of dangerous foes in CAPICHERA and MOLO DEL PALAZZO but can see them off on the way to better things.
Race 7 a No3 GLADIADORA
Trainer: Charlie Clover – Jockey: Saffie Osborne
GLADIADORA isn’t quite as effective on grass than on sand, but the three time AW winner can change things in the lucky last. She couldn’t justify the market support that came her way at Kempton earlier in the month where a poor start cooked her goose. That was preceded by an earning effort at Newmarket, however, and this is a race that’s there for the taking should she turn up in the same form.
