Race 2 No8 CHEEKY CHESCA
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan
CHEEKY CHESCA improved on her latest start to chase home a decent yardstick at Redcar which earned her a mark. The daughter of Invincible Army doesn’t have the nursery option at this stage of the summer, but should have the measure of winning stablemate LAIRY MARY in this restricted novice.
Race 3 No4 REIGNING QUEEN (Nap)
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: Oisin Murphy
A slight drop in trip might assist REIGNING QUEEN who was troubling the judge for the second time in as many starts when second at Yarmouth. Her chance is considerably boosted by the presence of the champion jockey on her back for the first time.
Race 4 No11 BORJINA
Trainer: Ed Bethell – Jockey: Callum Rodriguez
This fillies’ handicap can go to BORJINA, took advantage of a drop in class to land a novice at Catterick on only her second outing. The Bated Breath filly is of abundant interest now running in a handicap.
Race 7 No5 AMERJEET (Each Way)
Trainer: Michael Herrington – Jockey: Jason Hart
Getting racing room at the finish is keynote to AMERJEET who therefore comes with risks attached. The Blue Point gelding drops back to 1100 metres from an easing mark, and can take home a cheque if getting the breaks.
HAMILTON PARK
Race 5 No5 HI LORD (Nap)
Trainer: W Harrison – Jockey: Barry McHugh
HI LORD appeals as the only bet on a tricky card for punting. He upped his game when recovering from a tardy start to score in a desperate finish at Hamilton, opening his account on a career tenth start but for a third trainer.

Race 1 No2 BIGGLES
Trainer: Tom Lacey – Jockey: Stan Sheppard
While BIGGLES is returning from a massive lay off and enters uncharted territory trip-wise, it needs to be remembered he was a top class handicapper over 1400 metres who three years ago landed the prestigious Bunbury Cup at the Newmarket July meeting. He’s endured recurring training issues, but will be a big threat to paper favourite LORIKO if he stays.
Race 6 No6 TYSON (Nap)
Trainer: Dan Skelton – Jockey: Harry Skelton
TYSON proved the clinching leg of a much publicised multi horse gamble when scoring at Newcastle three runs back, and delivered with plenty in hand on his latest outing at Huntingdon. On only a second start over fences he enters the stage off a much lower mark, which he can exploit at the main expense of KARNAVAL POINT.
FFOS LAS
Race 2 No7 SEA IDOL (Nap)
Trainer: Sir Mark Prescott – Jockey: Dylan Hogan
SEA IDOL was unwanted in the betting yet put in a highly promising display when going down by a head on his Southwell introduction last month. In a blanket finish involving four horses he finished best of all, and was just denied. Over the same trip of 1400 metres he just needs to show that he’s as effecting on grass, because he’s sure to be more streetwise.
Race 4 No3 SALKADAN (Each Way)
Trainer: Dan Skelton – Jockey: David Probert
Skelton doesn’t saddle many on the Flat but the champion NH trainer has a potential answer to this three-year-old handicap in SALKADAN. The Ulysses gelding made the running and refused to be denied on handicap debut at Haydock, and with his gritty determination should enjoy the slightly longer trip.
LINGFIELD PARK
Race 5 No9 STARTLED LADY (Nap)
Trainer: William Knight – Jockey: Luke Morris
STARTLED LADY is consistent but couldn’t take advantage of a drop in trip at WIndsor. She’s now back up to 1400 metres breaking from the rail, which means she’s likely to get the run of things if breaking well. It’s another good earning opportunity for her.
Race 6 No1 CRYSTAL KRAKEN (Each Way)
Trainer: Dylan Cunha – Jockey: Sean Levey
CRYSTAL KRAKEN didn’t know she was 100-1 when troubling the judge for the first time at Redcar. It was a step in the right direction for the Soldier’s Call filly whose South African trainer is enjoying a bountiful run with his team.
