WINDSOR
Race 2 No2 SPACE PARTY
Trainer: Henry Candy – Jockey: Tom Marquand
SPACE PARTY is related to a speedy dual winner, and when troubling the judge in his Doncaster debut showed signs of greenness. He’s going to be more streetwise, and can open his account in the colours of his trainer.
Race 3 No2 MYTHICAL VALENTINE (Nap)
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: Callum Hutchinson
MYTHICAL VALENTINE is a big, long striding colt by Sottsass who after making the podium on both 2026 outings is now ready to pop, as he has an experience edge on most of his opponents.
Race 5 No5 GREEK ORDER
Trainer: Michael Bell – Jockey: Hector Crouch
GREEK ORDER had the world at his feet when joining Bill Mott a couple of years back, but couldn’t cut the mustard on the Florida circuit. Since joining Bell his form has gradually deteriorated but that’s been accompanied by an easing in his mark. He’s on a lengthy losing run and can take advantage of this class drop.
Race 6 No3 NIKOVO (Each Way)
Trainer: Michael Herrington – Jockey: Pierre-Louis Jamin
NIKOVO was beaten only five lengths when a never nearer eighth in Ascot’s Victoria Cup, a run that signals he’s on the cusp of a return to winning ways, from a mark 3lb lower than his last triumph. As a hold up horse he needs racing real estate towards the finish, but he will be hard to keep out of the money if getting it.
REDCAR
Race 2 No3 GLEN NEVIS (Nap)
Trainer: Charlie Johnston – Jockey: Jason Hart
This mile can bring about improvement in GLEN NEVIS, who went down fighting on his introduction at Doncaster. Denied by only half a length, he can prove a better option value wise than paper favourite ROMANTICIZNG.
Race 6 No1 BADRI ( Each Way)
Trainer: Michael Herrington – Jockey: Jason Hart
Eleven race winner BADRI met with traffic on his latest start at Windsor where he would have made the frame with a clear run. He will face similar conditions today, with a better chance of seeing daylight on a track where the sprinters tend to fan out.
LEICESTER
Race 5 No4 MYTHICAL BIRD (Nap)
Trainer: Hughie Morrison- Jockey: David Probert
The best bet of the day is MYTHICAL BIRD who could be called the winner of her recent Lingfield race a long way from home. Her trainer hasn’t enjoyed a memorable season so far, but this filly is one to follow now she’s opened her account.
Race 7 No5 GEARING’S POINT (Each Way)
Trainer: Sheena West – Jockey: Rose Dawes
Dawes has ridden GEARING’S POINT on several occasions and gets on well with the mare. The combination regularly take away a cheque, and can also have a say in this very open affair.
CARTMEL
Race 3 No10 HALF PINT DAISY
Trainer: Clive Boultbee-Brooks – Jockey: Ned Fox
HALF PINT DAISY put in a career best when second at Warwick. The key to this far from uncomplicated mare is the drop back to the minimum distance, and she’s ready to go one better on a track that will keep her mind on the job.
Race 7 No2 PONY SOPRANO (Nap)
Trainer: Dan Skelton – Jockey: Harry Skelton
Though he will start at prohibitive odds, PONY SOPRANO looked good value for the margin of his recent Leicester triumph and faces a field of mainly out of form opponents. Off a 7lb higher mark he can follow-up.
HUNTINGDON
Race 6 No2 TYSON (Nap)
Trainer: Dan Skelton – Jockey: Tristan Durrell
TYSON helped land a massive gamble when scoring at Newcastle two starts back, only to underwhelm in a better race at Fakenham. It’s too early to write him off, and his trainer appears to have found him a weakly contested affair in which to bounce back.
