PONTEFRACT

Race 2 No4 TOWN QUEEN
Trainer: Karl Burke – Jockey: Sam James

Owner Jaber Abdullah has a duality of interest in this fillies’ novice with impressive Beverley scorer LADY YOUMZAN defending her unbeaten record under a penalty. She should enjoy this longer trip but TOWN QUEEN is a daughter of Blue Point who arrives on debut with good vibes from the Middleham gallops and could upstage the favourite.

Race 3 No2 DAYDREAMA
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan

DAYDREAMA looks the main arrow of two from the quiver of Tim Easterby in this sprint handicap. The Dream Ahead gelding rubbed shoulders with some decent types last season, and when third in a Listed race here in the autumn was only beaten a length by the vey smart Shayem. Several of the Easterby sprinters have needed their first run back but this fellow might not.

Race 7 No2 TANJEN (Nap)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan

Top weight SPEEDING BULLET posted his sole success after joining Paul Midgley at this course in June before going on to card a couple of near misses at Southwell and Haydock. He can need his first run back however, making TANJEN a more appealing alternative. The Nap, a dual scorer in 2025, barely gets a stride over 1000 metres and from a favourable draw can prove hard to catch.

YARMOUTH

Race 2 No6 FANCIULLA DEL WEST (Nap)
Trainer: Ed Walker – Jockey: Ashley Lewis

The odds-on BRILLIANT STAR has a pedigree to die for but FANCIULLA DEL WEST also brings string form to the table and will be a longer price. She split a couple of subsequent winners at Newcastle and has done well for her winter break.

Race 3 No6 ROOM FOURTEEN
Trainer: James Fanshawe – Jockey: Daniel Muscutt

Without Parole filly ROOM FOURTEEN is hooded for the first time after a pleasing first run back when she troubled the judge at Wolverhampton. She wasn’t beaten far, will I prove for that effort and should enjoy stretching out another furlong on the distance ladder.

FFOS LAS

Race 2 No4 SMILE BACK (Each Way)
Trainer: Richard Phillips – Jockey: Harry Bannister

Workforce mare SMILE BACK landed a point and a bumper, and while struggling to score over hurdles has been placed on three occasions to make her a podium possibility at a decent price. The forecast cut in the ground is what she wants.

Race 6 No8 FERANDO (Each Way)
Trainer: Barry Murphy – Jockey: Tom Cannon

A switch to hurdles could bring about a better performance from FERANDO, who travels well in his races but is prone to jumping errors over fences. He will be a big double figure price and is a therefore only a speculative choice to bounce back.

Race 7 No5 NEEPS AND TATTIES (Nap)
Trainer: Richard Phillips – Jockey: Thomas Bellamy

One that should operate here is NEEPS AND TATTIES who found some form on her second visit to this course last time. Her effort to chase home Hellfire Princess was easily a career best, and though back against males the Black Sam Bellamy mare can progress again.

WOLVERHAMPTON

Race 1 No3 BLACKBERRY BOLD (Nap)
Trainer: Dr Richard Newland – Jockey: Jack Doughty

BLACKBERRY BOLD comes from a speedy family on her dam’s side and should have derived considerable benefit from her first outing when third at Nottingham. If handling the Tapeta surface she can open her account.

Race 7 No3 GUNDOGAN
Trainer: Tony Carroll – Jockey: Kieran Fox

GUNDOGAN’s only career win happened in the summer of 2024 and Carroll has saddled him to ten straight defeats on sand. The champion AW trainer will be getting frustrated to win with the gelding, and that could happen tonight on a first visit to Dunstall Park since joining him.
