CHELTENHAM
Race 2 No6 UNDERSUPERVISION (Each Way)
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies – Jockey: Mr Toby McCain-Mitchell
Generally out of sorts last season and an underwhelmer on his reappearance, UNDERSUPERVISION a is a speculative advice to bounce back in a fiercely competitive amateur riders’ handicap chase. He’s been in good form at home and can show with an earning run that his race three weeks ago has served to put the edge on him. Read To Return, Grandads Cottage and Strictlyadancer are others to include in all exotic wagering on the contest.
Race 3 No4 GOOD RISK AT ALL (Nap)
Trainer: Sam Thomas – Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies
GOOD RISK AT ALL demonstrated how effective he is on an undulating course when an impressive scorer on his chase debut at Carlisle. Should the forecast rain arrive he will be even more in his element, and he looks a horse to follow. His in form trainer has always insisted we would see the best of him jumping fences, and another success here can rubber stamp that.
Race 4 PADDY POWER GOLD CUP HANDICAP CHASE
No10 ANGELS BREATH (Each Way)
Trainer: Sam Thomas – Jockey: Jonathan Burke
The Real Whacker carries a three-race unbeaten record at this course to post and can made a bold bid to preserve it, though the old adage ‘weight stops trains’ could ultimately get in his way. Unexpected Party was very polished over the fences when scoring at Chepstow and looks a smart recruit to fences for the Skeltons.
Festival winner Stage Star is always hard to beat on his seasonal reappearance and has to be seriously considered, while Notlongtillmay showed with a pleasing return at Chepstow that he has a good chance of turning the tables with that rival from the Turners Novices’ Chase in March.
One that could cause problems for all of them is ANGEL’S BREATH. The grey has very few miles on his racing clock, and ran well on his return over hurdles at The Open meeting here. A very good worker and jumper, and with Burke an eye-taking jockey for him, the nine-year-old should be involved.

Race 5 No6 JUDICIAL LAW (Each Way)
Trainer: Jonjo O’Neill – Jockey: Jonjo O’Neill Jr
O’Neill can usually be relied upon to get one ready for his local meeting and JUDICIAL LAW fits that bill to a tee. In a race where support for Come On Teddy would interest me, the six-year-old can maintain his fine earning sequence, one that includes a very good effort at this track three weeks ago when he wasn’t quite ready. That should have made him cherry ripe and he rates one of the best bets of the meeting.
Race 7 No15 WORLD OF FORTUNES (Each Way)
Trainer: L Kenny – Jockey: Mr J Kenny
WORLD OF FORTUNES is carded to go off the biggest price of four Irish raiders in the concluding mares’ bumper, but she can come home in front. Unlucky not to be unbeaten in this division, she posted a wide-margin success at Wexford back in May and has thrived for her summer at grass.
WETHERBY
Race 2 No2 NELLS SON (Nap)
Trainer: Nicky Richards – Jockey: Danny McManamin
Jungle Jack is an interesting addition to the chasing ranks but will need to be smart in beat NELLS SON. The eight-year-old dominated his comeback race at Carlisle in the manner of a horse that’s turned a page and he is one to follow.
Race 3 No9 BASHERS REFLECTION (Each Way)
Trainer: Ben Case – Jockey: Harry Bannister
BASHERS REFLECTION ended last season on a high and might just have needed the run when third to Oscars Moonshine on his reappearance at Wincanton. If going forward from that he needs to be taken seriously in a race that fell to a Cheltenham Festival winner 12 months ago.
Race 6 No1 RICHMOND LAKE
Trainer: Donald McCain Jnr – Jockey: Brian Hughes
RICHMOND LAKE enjoyed a bountiful winter and spring when winning on three of his last four chase starts culminating in success at the Scottish National meeting. He’s one of the nicest prospects in the McCain yard, and can make a triumphal start to the season and complete a fine hat-trick.
LINGFIELD PARK
Race 7 No1 REGAL REALITY
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Jockey: Richard Kingscote
A horse who used to have two ways of running, there’s been a freshly found consistency to REGAL REALITY this season that’s seen him earn in each of his five outings. Winner of the Diomed Stakes (Group 3) at Epsom in June, he’s taken on smart opposition and chased home the likes of Chindit and Mutasaabeq on his last couple of outings. As long as the Dr Hyde side of his persona doesn’t return, he can prove too strong for fellow veteran Forest Of Dean in this featured Churchill Stakes.
Race 8 No6 WILLEM TWEE (Nap)
Trainer: James Fanshawe – Jockey: Oisin Murphy
WILLEM TWEE deserves a step into Listed company following his authoritative triumph at Kempton. The Ribchester gelding has started to realise his early promise and can develop,into a proper Group horse for his connections to look forward to next year.
WOLVERHAMPTON
Race 3 No7 LEGACY POWER
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: Callum Hutchinson
LEGACY POWER left the cash behind when only fourth at Pontefract, having run a cracker on his debut at Lingfield. Back on an all-weather surface and with the advantage of the rail he can recoup losses.
Race 5 No1 BERRYGATE (Nap)
Trainer: Ed Bethell – Jockey: PJ McDonald
BERRYGATE was putting in some pleasing work at the end of her first career start at this track. The daughter of Gregorian has learned plenty from that educational run, and can take full advantage of her draw on the fence in this fillies’ maiden.
