Steve Borthwick’s England are well and truly on their way following their 33-19 victory over New Zealand last week, and should now be considered second favourites, behind France, to lift the Six Nations when the competition kicks off in February.

They’re now ranked third in the world following that George Ford-inspired win, one in which they went down 12-0 early on before forcing their way back into the contest and ultimately coming up with a comprehensive result in the end.

Although this current All Blacks setup may be a far cry from what it once was, the magnitude of the win will be massive for England, and the psychological boost it will provide Borthwick and his players cannot be understated as the squad continues to build towards the next Rugby World Cup.

With the likes of Ollie Lawrence and Ben Earl in such fine form, the hosts will back themselves to hold off what will be an equally as confident Los Pumas outfit at Twickenham here.

After a relatively mediocre start to his tenure at the helm, Borthwick has slowly and steadily managed to get the buy-in from his players, who are clearly loving the playing philosophy at the heart of their setup and are looking stronger than they’ve been in years.

Felipe Contepomi’s men are fresh off a big win of their own in Edinburgh, with replacement Santi Carreras coming off the wood to deliver a masterclass at first-receiver and cut up a solid Scotland defence in the second-half.

The fact that Argentina have already been beaten twice at home by this English side in 2025 will serve as added motivation, though they should be wary of another slow start as it’s unlikely England will give them as many chances to get back into it as did Scotland last week. Even with the presence of Carreras, Pablo Matera and flying wingers Rodrigo Isco and Mateo Carreras on the pitch.

Verdict: England on the board
Get on England to front up physically and shut down the Pumas’ attack, with their Pom Squad to ensure they maintain a lead in the final quarter of play to seal the deal in front of their home support and make it three from three over the men in blue and white this year.
