CARLISLE

Race 2 No6 SILESIA
Trainer: Kevin Ryan – Jockey: Kevin Stott

The only surviving meeting in the sun drenched UK can see SILESIA opening her account in this fillies’ novice. The daughter of Zoustar has earned on each of her three outings and should benefit from the move up to 1200 metres.

Race 3 No8 RICKY PUNTING
Trainer: Tom Dascombe – Jockey: Jason Hart

Experience can again be the deciding factor in this restricted maiden with RICKY PUNTING putting his best foot forward on his fourth outing. Although underwhelming when favourite for his latest start at Pontefract, his first two efforts temper enthusiasm, while the addition of cheek pieces can also assist the gelding.

Race 4 No7 BARLEY
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan

This stable is amongst the winners and it augurs well for BARLEY to notch a first success of the season. The seven-year-old hasn’t scored for two years, but that triumph came in this very race when he carried 5lb more, while he’s shown with frame finishes in his last two starts that he’s now ready to win again.

Race 5 No10 STIMULATIVE TRIP (Each Way)
Trainer: David Menuisier – Jockey: Paul Mulrennan

If there’s a dark filly in this Listed feature then STIMULATIVE TRIP is that horse. She made an immediate impact when scoring on debut at Newbury exactly a year ago, and though well held on her reappearance at the same course that was in a Group 3. She was then partnered by a French jockey who didn’t know her when sixth in a Listed race at Chantilly won by the highly rated Edaja, where she might have fared better had she been held up. Her stable has been conspicuously quiet, though scored with its runner at Royal Ascot, Lost Boys.

Race 6 No13 LEADENHALL (Each Way)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: Jake Dickson

The historic Carlisle Bell can see LEADENHALL notching a third success from his last four starts. The gelding was ridden prominently for two triumphs at Nottingham that sandwiched a solid run in defeat when sixth to Point Of Contact at York, where he again found extra when grabbed by the chasing pack. He’s in the form of his life, and has formed a good rapport with his jockey.

Race 7 No2 WINE DARK SEA (Nap)
Trainer: Harry Charltons- Jockey: Lewis Edmunds

The equally important Cumberland Plate features a red hot favourite in WINE DARK SEA but it’s easy to see why. Since going down the handicap route this lightly raced individual has scored at Kempton and on reappearance at Ascot as well as finishing second at Newmarket. He greatly impressed on that latest outing, and isn’t making the long trip from Wiltshire just for the goodness of his health.
