YARMOUTH

Race 3 No6 STARSHIP LILY (Nap)

Trainer: George Scott – Jockey: Oisin Murphy

Back on turf after chasing home Iron Dome at Wolverhampton, STARSHIP LILY offers up the best bet at Yarmouth’s final fixture of the season. The Starman filly was turned over as an odds-on shot on her introduction here in July and can put that course experience to good use under the champion jockey.

Race 4 No1 QUEEN OF SCOTLAND

Trainer: George Boughey – Jockey: Billy Loughnane

Hat-trick seeker QUEEN OF SCOTLAND rates a worthy favourite for her first run in a handicap. She looked stronger as the race developed when scoring at Kempton and also brings winning turf form to the table under  the irrepressible Loughnane. The daughter of Pinatubo starts off on a workable mark of 87.

Race 7 No7 RAMBUSO CREEK

Trainer: Michael Herrington – Jockey: Toby Moore

Some good bets were landed when RAMBUSO CREEK delivered in a classified at Nottingham last week. The Tagula gelding is a shining example of Herrington’s ability to get the best out of his sprinters and with a good apprentice doing the steering today his 4lb penalty is negated.

HEXHAM

Race 5 No3 WELONLYHAVEDONE (Nap)

Trainer: Sandy Thomson – Jockey: Brian Hughes

The only advice on this tricky card is outsider of three WEONLYHAVEDONE. He’s opposed by a well known cast off from the Henderson stable in JERIKO DU REPONET and the Dan Skelton-trained ROYAL INFANTRY. A case can be made for either, but my selection has claims in his own right after showing ability in Ireland and now runs out of a new stable at which the change of scenery has agreed with him.

NEWCASTLE

Race 1 No3 SEA LA ROMA

Trainer: William Haggas – Jockey: Tom Marquand

In this three cornered novice SEA LA ROMA can take the soils. She showed signs of inexperience on her Yarmouth introduction but that second placing is there to be improved on against the more experienced EMPRESS JINGU who may well be playing for minor money.

Race 2 No3 OURSIN

Trainer: Charlie Hills – Jockey: Tom Marquand

Marquand is an eye taking booking for the unexposed OURSIN who returns from an e forced absence of five months. A dual AW scorer last year, the selection rubbed shoulders with some smart handicappers on his only 2026 outing at Newbury when posting a midfield finish behind Hand Of God. It’s strong form in the context of today’s assignment and the gelding just needs to confirm his fitness.

Race 6 No1 NOTIMETOTAKEOFF

Trainer: Charlie Johnston – Jockey: Jack Callan

NOTIMETOTAKEOFF posted a career best when third on his nursery bow at Leicester suggesting he will pay his way in juvenile handicaps at the back end. His cause is boosted by having Jack Callan n the hot seat.

Race 7 No5 ASHEN (Nap)

Trainer: Jim Goldie – Jockey: Paul Mulrennan

One I feel has to run well is ASHEN who got going too late at Ayr last time. The chestnut has regularly troubled the judge but this is his first run on sand since January, which could prove the key to him breaking a losing spell going back to the spring.

Race 9 No5 MAYO COUNTY

Trainer: Julie Camacho- Jockey: Tom Kiely- Marshall

Since returning from a break MAYO COUNTY has earned in back-to-back outings and has a good pilot doing the steering in the concluding apprentice handicap, which she’s capable of winning if on a going day.
