Race 3 No1 SHADOW KING

Trainer: Richard Hannon – Jockey: Sean Levey

SHADOW KING displayed good natural pace before being blown away by the smart Night In Vegas at Goodwood and has enjoyed a subsequent mid summer break. The Dark Angel colt gets blinkers added in this hotly contested nursery in which he can parry the challenges of JUM EIRAH STORM and TEN CLARETS.

Race 4 No5 SARGENT DENNIS (Nap)

Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: Edward Greatrex

SARGENT DENNIS had three quick races back in the spring and has benefitted from a short break to ready him for this move into handicap company. He’s been going well in his preparation and has the right man on board to help him back up his Windsor success.

Race 6 No6 PALMARIAN

Trainer: Ruth Carr – Jockey: James Sullivan

PALMARIAN brings solid credentials to the table for a stable whose handicappers are going well. The Kingman gelding made a good fist of backing up his Leicester triumph at this course, and following that narrow defeat in a blanket finish can go one better.

Race 7 No3 BRIGHLEE (Each Way)

Trainer: David Menuisier – Jockey: Jack Callan

Emanating from a yard that should be followed through the remainder of the summer, BRIGHLEE can stamp an impression in a race that might be dominated by the only fillies in the field. She was doing her best work at the finish of her latest outing on just a third start in a select campaign. She’s fresh and well for a race in which she’s narrowly preferred to ALTERITY.

SANDOWN PARK

Race 3 No7 TALL TREES (Each Way)

Trainer: Brian Meehan – Jockey: Jamie Spencer

There was an element of improvement from TALL TREES when she came close to breaking her maiden at Newmarket. She’d run respectably in a couple of hot maidens preceding that, and can successfully make the graduation into Listed company at a tempting price.

Race 5 No1 MY BALLYQUINN (Nap)

Trainer: David O’Meara – Jockey; Oisin Murphy

This is going to turn into a tactical affair but MY BALLYQUINN has the best form, and is surely not travelling from the North with the champ on board just for the goodness of his health.

NEWBURY

Race 2 No6 LORRAINE (Nap)

Trainer: John Gosden – Jockey: Rab Havlin

The beautifully bred LORRAINE fits the bill on debut in an interesting contest. The Juddmonte-owned Frankel filly has been giving off the right signals in Newmarket, and should deliver for trainer John Gosden.

Race 3 No7 ALWAYS PERFECT

Trainer: Charlie Fellowes – Jockey: Kieran Shoemark

ALWAYS PERFECT smoothly opened her accounting at Yarmouth last month in a run that has given the filly a confidence lift. With her tail up the daughter of Sioux National can consolidate and make it back-to-back victories.

Race 2 No6 ROGUE DYNASTY (Nap)

ROGUE DYNASTY is 1lb lower than when finishing second at Brighton to make it a fourth earning run in as many starts this season. She has the competitive edge to gain a deserved second career success for her popular owners and trainer.

Race 4 No3 BERRY CLEVER

Trainer: John Berry – Jockey: Silvestre De Sousa

De Sousa is an eye taking booking for BERRY CLEVER who has slipped to a tempting mark. The five-year-old looked on the way back when troubling the judge here last time, while his figures at the course reads seven frame finishes from ten appearances.

Race 5 No5 TWILIGHT GUEST (Each Way)

Trainer: George Margarson – Jockey: John Egan

TWILIGHT GUEST has taken longer than usual to find his form this season, but after a minor frame finish last time could raise his game to land this weak affair at a working man’s’ price.

Race 7 No4 GUEST HOUSE

Trainer: George Margarson – Jockey: John Egan

Margarson and Egan might also have something to shout about with GUEST HOUSE, who is in the same ownership. The selection scored on his seasonal reappearance when partnered by Egan here, and although a shade disappointing last time his previous run at Newmarket would be good enough, if repeated, to win this.
