SOUTHWELL

Race 3 No3 NOBLE GUEST (Nap)
Trainer: George Margarson – Jockey: John Egan

NOBLE GUEST has dropped to 2lb below his last winning mark and arrives on the back of an earning run at Newmarket that has been endorsed. He’s improved from race to race this season and looks primed to go close in this second division of the 1400 metres handicap.

Race 5 No7 BUZZ BOX
Trainer: Michael Herrington – Jockey: Jason Hart

Judging by his rare visits to the track, BUZZ BOX might have had training issues, but there was much to like about his earning effort on seasonal return at Newcastle in January. He’s back from another lay off, but was unbeaten in the 2025 campaign and needs to be taken seriously.

Race 7 No3 CLUB CLASS
Trainer: James Fanshawe – Jockey: Daniel Muscutt

Fanshawe is double handed in the best race on this card, and while any support for the returning VAGUER would be interesting, his main player is surely CLUB CLASS. This filly has a ring of consistency to her persona and a change of surface to Tapeta is worth trying. On her form on the Kempton Polytrack she rates the one to beat.

AYR

Race 4 No6 LANGHOLM
Trainer: Michael Dods – Jockey: Rhys Elliott

Although this is away from his favourite track of Catterick, LANGHOLM can put his best foot forward and back up a gritty triumph at Beverley, which was easily his best effort of the season.

Race 5 No2 OFF SPIN (Nap)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan

OFF SPIN will encounter different ground to the easy conditions when he finished third over this course and distance last time. However that should not prove a detriment to the four-year-old, who after earning in three of his five races this season looks like a horse that’s ready to win.

Race 6 No7 LEADENHALL (Each Way)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: Jake Dickson

LEADENHALL attracted plenty of support before being run out of it in the Carlisle Bell last month but that was the latest in a string of good efforts by the six-year-old, who won twice at Nottingham beforehand. As long as this doesn’t come too soon for the gelding he should give another good account.

MARKET RASEN

Race 5 No2 AUTHORISED SPEED (Nap)
Trainer: Gary Moore – Jockey: Caoilin Quinn

It would be a real feather in the cap of the Moores if they have AUTHORISED SPEED ready to win this after a more than two year absence, but the nine-year-old is unexposed over fences and having fallen on two of those starts is something of an untapped force. If things go to plan he could outclass his opponents.
