LINGFIELD PARK
Race 2 No7 PERFECT NATION (Nap)
Trainer: George Boughey – Jockey: Billy Loughnane
Boughey might be worth following on the early part of this card and first up for him is PERFECT NATION. The Sioux Nation colt was too keen but still managed to chase home a smart foe on debut at Windsor. He will be more streetwise for this assignment over a longer 1400 metres and can open his account.
Race 4 No5 WORLINGTON
Trainer: George Boughey – Jockey: Billy Loughnane
WORLINGTON has earned on all four starts in 2026, getting home by a nose at Ffos Las last time for which he’s burdened with a 6lb penalty. He landed some good bets on that occasion and is fancied to consolidate against another recent winner in BREAK POINT.
Race 6 No4 SOLAR EDGE
Trainer: Christopher Mason – Jockey: Gina Mangan
SOLAR EDGE went down in a tight finish at Windsor and has strong claims returned to the Polytrack on which he’s a past winner. He doesn’t have many miles on his racing clock, making him a serious player here on just a third outing of the year.
Race 7 No8 WEST BYFLEET
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: David Probert
WEST BYFLEET was compromised by an outside draw at Ffos Las which meant his jockey had to use up valuable energy to get across to the rail and lead. In the end he had no resistance to a couple of well regarded opponents but it’s interesting that his trainer has elected to keep him in novice company rather than going for a handicap.
AYR
Race 5 No5 ROUSING ENCORE (Each Way)
Trainer: Ruth Carr – Jockey: James Sullivan
ROUSING ENCORE couldn’t get in a blow in a better race than this at York but while he’s a risky proposition he’s on a handy enough mark to pop up at a decent price. The six race winner could easily bounce back in this trial for the Silver Cup, and needs respecting.
Race 6 No11 NEWYORKSTATEOFMIND (Each Way)
Trainer: Ruth Carr – Jockey: James Sullivan
A pea out of the same pod and from the same stable is NEWYORKSTATEOFMIND. His stable has won three of the last nine runnings of this race, and as there are plenty of rivals that like to force the pace he could trouble the best of them with his strong finish.
RIPON
Race 4 No3 REIGNING PROFIT
Trainer: Ruth Carr – Jockey: Ray Dawson
REIGNING PROFIT finished with his customary flourish to take away a minor cheque at Hamilton in a race where the cards didn’t fall for him. He’s dropped to a handy mark, and if seeng racing real estate in the closing stages of this sprint handicap can get into the shake up.
Race 5 No3 FAIRYDALE (Each Way)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan
FAIRYDALE hasn’t done anything to get his connections too excited but there was an excuse for her underwhelming run at Nottingham as it was on soft ground and she didn’t get the trip. Her previous run at Redcar offers hope that she can find something, and back over a mile and a half she has a chance to get involved at a working mans’ price.
Race 6 No9 LONG SHOT
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan
From the same stable LONG SHOT has a better chance than his name indicates. He was narrowly denied on his latest outing at Catterick and though thoroughly exposed is more likely to run to his form than most of the opposition.
WOLVERHAMPTON
Race 3 No5 JESSE LUC (Each Way)
Trainer: Mike Murphy – Jockey: Rob Hornby
JESSE LUC put in a seasonal best when troubling the judge behind a progressive winner at Southwell and now returns from a freshening break in which he underwent a breathing operation. If the surgery has had the desired effect he’s more than capable of getting into the shake-up.
Race 6 No10 IMOLA (Nap)
Trainer: Joey Ramsden – Jockey: Tom Kiely-Marshall
IMOLA is a name to conjure with on his hunt for a third success from his last four starts. His record at Dunstall Park reads 22114, and after having his hat-trick bid foiled by some scrimmaging at the start last time he’s in good shape to bounce back from a very good slot in the gate.
