PONTEFRACT

Race 3 No8 SILVERELLA (Nap)

Trainer: Marcus Tregoning – Jockey: Jason Watson

The features Silver Tankard can see SILVERELLA repeat her course win of last month and complete a hat-trick on the way to even better things. The grey took the notable scalp of Rhythm Of My Heart at Goodwood before easily landing the odds in a restricted novice over today’s turning mile. The Goodwood form has been endorsed, and if close to her paper price this daughter of Frontiersman is worth backing.

Race 5 No1 WISE EAGLE

Trainer: Adam Nicol – Jockey: Billy Garritty

WISE EAGLE hasn’t seen much racecourse action this season and returns from a near five months break since finishing second over hurdles at Kelso. He’d previously run well to make the podium at Musselburgh and should not be underestimated.

BATH

Race 4 No4 CHAPRON (Nap)

Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: Callum Hutchinson

This is a decent novice for the time of year and offers CHAPRON the chance to confirm the promise shown on his first run at Sandown. It too a long time for the penny to drop with the son of Nathaniel but he was finishing as well as anything up the final hill, in an exercise that’s sure to have made him more streetwise.

Race 6 No4 HOT CASH

Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: Tom Marquand

HOT CASH can gain a first win of the season at the ninth attempt on a first visit to the Lansdown course. While the jury is out on whether 1600 metres is his optimum distance, he’s put n a couple of solid recent efforts to trouble the the judge and would not be winning out of turn.

PLUMPTON

Race 1 No2 BASS HUNTER (Nap)

Trainer: Chris Gordon – Jockey: Freddie Gordon

ANNIVERSARY made a pleasing start to his hurdling career when scoring at Fontwell but BASS HUNTER should outclass him. The Nap gained impressive triumphs at Newbury and Ascot before leading home the English when third to The Mourne Rambler in the Festival Bumper. He was over the top when disappointing at Aintree, but having schooled well at home this is a new ball game for him, and a division in which he can go far.

Race 3 No5 GOLLY GOSH

Trainer: T Ellis – Jockey: Jack Andrews

GOLLY GOSH isn’t a certain runner, but if turned out quickly after his solid effort in defeat at Stratford he can make this an overdue first win under Rules.

Race 6 No1 LATIN

Trainer: Olly Murphy – Jockey: Sean Bowen

LATIN is in a weaker race than when he finished second in a first time tongue tie at Market Rasen. If the strap works again he should be able to successfully give away weight all round in this handicap hurdle.

SOUTHWELL

Race 2 No8 INDICA (Each Way)

Trainer: Julie Camacho – Jockey: Ryan Sexton

From a plum draw two off the rail INDICA a looks worth a market check. The Minzaal colt had more in front of him than behind on his Redcar introduction but like most juveniles from this stable should go forward with that experience under his belt.

WOLVERHAMPTON

Race 1 No6 HOOSIER (Nap)

Trainer: Marco Botti – Jockey: Marco Ghiani

In a low grade nursery the hooded HOOSIER could be the answer. The daughter of Starspangledbanner put in a solid enough first run for Botti when fourth at this course which earned her a handicap mark and it’s one she can exploit.

Race 4 No6 MORRIS DANCER

Trainer: John Gosden – Jockey: Rab Havlin

Things haven’t worked out for MORRIS DANCER so far this year but he could be worth persevering with now moved to calmer waters. Having been campaigned as a Group horse the Palace Pier colt probably needs this more straightforward task to get his confidence back.
