Ferrero is one of the best coaches in tennis and played a big role in Carlos Alcaraz’s success. During their seven-year partnership, which started in 2018 and ended in December 2025, Ferrero helped Alcaraz win 24 ATP Tour-level titles, including six Grand Slam titles.

Now, world No. 4 Ben Shelton has joined forces with Ferrero, who will work alongside Shelton’s father, Bryan. The 46-year-old coach brings years of experience as both a former top player and a successful coach.

Bryan Shelton also has a strong tennis background. He had a successful ATP Tour career between 1989 and 1997, winning two singles titles at the Hall of Fame Championships in 1991 and 1992.

After retiring from professional tennis, he moved into coaching and became a successful college and professional coach. He led Georgia Tech’s women’s tennis team to the NCAA national championship in 2007 and coached at the University of Florida.

In an exclusive sit-down interview Shelton said,” I’m super excited , I think obviously he was a very , very elite player and elite coach as well .

“He bring so much of experience to my team and I think the combination between him and my dad is gonna be great for me. I’m excited to start working together, there is a lot to learn from someone like him and I’m fully ready to lean into that in the off season and see what we are going to do come next year”.

The 24-year-old has had an impressive 2026 season, winning four ATP singles titles at the Dallas, Munich, Stuttgart and Canadian Opens. He reached five finals, defeating Taylor Fritz twice, as well as Flavio Cobolli and Brandon Nakashima. He reached his first Grand Slam final at the US Open but lost to Germany’s Alexander Zverev in four sets.
