PONTEFRACT

Race 1 No1 INNICHEN (Nap)
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: Tom Marquand

INNICHEN was popular in the market before running into one on his second start at Newmarket. He didn’t progress as much as his connections hoped from his first run when meeting traffic problems at Bath. From the perfect draw on the rail he can make his experience edge count.

Race 5 No4 THE GOOD BISCUIT
Trainer: Ruth Carr – Jockey: Warren Fentiman

Also well drawn for the 1200 metres sprint is THE GOOD BISCUIT, who made a pleasing return when third at Catterick. The five-year-old won over this course and distance last summer and should now be cherry ripe to deliver.

MUSSELBURGH

Race 5 No4 COUNTING CARDS (Nap)
Trainer: Ed Bethell – Jockey: Clifford Lee

A first time hood can assist COUNTING CARDS as the only bet on the card. Since undergoing a breathing operation the gelding has attracted support on two of three AW runs but he is better equipped to show his true ability on this return to grass.

SOUTHWELL

Race 3 No1 MAGICIAN OF RIGA
Trainer: Richard Hannon – Jockey: Sean Levey

MAGICIAN OF RIGA has progressed from race to race since moving into AW handicaps. He fairly powered home on his latest start at Wolverhampton, and though higher in the weights looks to have been found a very good opportunity to follow-up.

Race 6 No3 HERETIC (Each Way)
Trainer: Michael Herrington – Jockey: Dylan Hogan

Eighteen of HERETIC’s twenty appearances since joining Herrington have been at this venue where he’s a two times winner. He never looked like justifying strong support on a latest start earlier in the month but a better showing is in the offing.

Race 7 No4 GOLD STAR GAZING (Nap)
Trainer: James Fanshawe – Jockey: Daniel Muscutt

Starman colt GOLD STAR GAZING brings solid credentials to the table following podium finishes on his two starts at Kempton last autumn. Not only is that the best form on offer, but he’s undergone a breathing operation in the winter, while his stable is amongst the winners.

BATH

Race 2 No11 TURTLE STAR
Trainer: Jonny Portman- Jockey: Rossa Ryan

Portman is enjoying a good week and that makes TURTLE STAR well worth a market check on her introduction. A wide draw is potentially hazardous, but the Kameko filly has a top pilot doing the steering.

Race 4 No6 CHOURMO
Trainer: Dan Horsford – Jockey: Jason Watson

Brighton specialist CHOURMO has edged towards another success in three AW outings since changing stables. He was worried out of it in a blanket finish to his latest start at Wolverhampton, where he was backed, but now back on turf can recoup the losses.

Race 5 No4 REDREDROBIN (Nap)
Trainer: Malcolm Saunders – Jockey: Lewis Edmunds

While REDREDROBIN is probably not as good as when scoring five times in the 2023 season, she returns to competitive action having done plenty of work. She’s a past winner at her local course, and fancied to take away a cheque under a jockey that knows her.
