DONCASTER

Race 2 No2 PANTILE WARRIOR (Nap)
Trainer: John Gosden – Jockey: Kieran Shoemark

PANTILE WARRIOR had little to beat when opening his account at Chelmsford but it has to be remembered that he ran into some very smart foes in his two-year-old season, and appeals as a horse to follow now going down the handicap route. The Frankel gelding can take the spoils as the best bet on the card.

Race 3 No4 HONVED
Trainer: Ralph Beckett – Jockey: Rossa Ryan

Palmarian brings a good first offering at Newmarket to the table for Godolphin but HONVED can cause him problems at a slightly longer price. The selection attracted market support ahead of a frame finish on his first outing at Wolverhampton from which the Clive Cox-trained winner has upheld the form. Furthermore he will be more streetwise.

Race 4 No18 CHAIRMANOFTHEBOARD (Each Way)
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: Edward Greatrex

Veteran CHAIRMANOFTHEBOARD is extremely well in himself for this first outing as a nine-year-old and has been showing every sign at home that he can enjoy another good season. His chance in this good race for wagering will improve if the ground doesn’t dry up too much.

Race 5 No9 RATHGAR (Each Way)
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: David Probert

His stablemate RATHGAR ran respectably when beaten five lengths here at the back end, while an earlier success at Yarmouth showed that the chestnut had been running over the wrong trip. Sticking to a mile and a quarter he can give a good account, as he shone in his final work for this earlier in the week.

Race 6 No3 METAVERSE
Trainer: David Menuisier – Jockey: Oisin Murphy

One that pops out of the page in this 1400 metres handicap is METAVERSE, who hails from a stable whose horses look like they are fully prepare for some early season pickings. The selection is versatile ground wise and has done enough work to ensure he gives a good account.

ASCOT

Race 2 No6 OCEAN CONQUEST
Trainer: Nigel Twiston- Davies – Jockey: Sam Twisron- Davies

Ex Irish OCEAN CONQUEST has the wherewithal to take out this tight knit juvenile hurdle and record a first success under Rules. He chased home a good yardstick on his latest start at Newbury after making a couple of silly errors, but granted a clean round on this drier terrain he can go one better.

Race 5 No4 CREDO (Nap)
Trainer: Anthony Honeyball – Jockey: Harry Cobden

Cobden gave CREDO a peach when the combination scored at Carlisle to make it two wins from her last three outings. The five times chase winner carries a 6lb penalty for her troubles, but should enjoy the Ascot track and fences.

Race 6 No2 COURT CIAN
Trainer: Stuart Edmunds – Jockey: Murray Dodd

Only four contest this handicap hurdle but COURT CIAN looks a bet worth waiting for. He was landing a third triumph from his last five attempts at Market Rasen, and shouldn’t be inconvenienced by coming back slightly in trip under a 5 lb penalty.
