HEREFORD

Race 3 No4 SPRING GALE
Trainer: Henry Daly – Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies

As a novice having her first run in a handicap, SPRING GALE warrants a market check. She’s progressed from race to race this season and should enjoy stretching out to the two and three-quarter mile trip for the first time in colours that are frequently carried to success in mares’ races.

Race 6 No3 INOUI MACHIN (Nap)
Trainer: Neil Mulholland – Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies

It should pay to be selective with wagering at this meeting, but a bet I’m looking forward to is INOUI MACHIN in the two-and-a-half-mile handicap hurdle. The six-year-old, a dual bumper winner, deservedly got off the mark over jumps over today’s course and distance last month and should have more to offer now going down the handicap route.

PLUMPTON

Race 3 No1 DAVIDOC (Nap)
Trainer: Ben apauling – Jockey: Ben Jones

DAVIDOC can play the experience card to winning effect in a maiden hurdle that lacks depth. Unless jumps newcomer Ramensky has something to offer, the Nap can post a first success under Rules on just a fourth start for his trainer. The Irish point winner showed sufficient at Ffos Las, Exeter and Warwick to suggest he will be hard to beat now returning after a breathing operation.

Race 5 No9 BORN AT MIDNIGHT
Trainer: Bill Turner – Jockey: Harry Kimber

BORN AT MIDNIGHT has proved a flagship for his trainer’s West Country stable and shown a penchant for this track with back-to-back victories last month. He defied a 7lb penalty by a wide margin when beating Hilltown, and though this is a more competitive race his liking for the terrain can help him complete a fine hat-trick from this new mark. In a good contest for betting, Crystal Moon, Milan Bridge and Pedley Wood form the main dangers.

Race 7 No8 GETAWAYS GIFT
Trainer: Anthony Honeyball – Jockey: Rex Dingle

As his only runner at the meeting, Nicky Henderson’s Crazierthandaisy has to be respected. She troubled the judge on her Huntingdon introduction but at a bigger price, GETAWAYS GIFT offers up some value. She finished just out of the money in a Wincanton race that is working out, and should do better in this weaker race.
