WINCANTON
Race 3 No2 DISGUISEDLIMIT (Nap)
Trainer: Philip Hobbs – Jockey: Micheal Nolan
DISGUISEDLIMIT found himself in a warm heat when third at Taunton, where having travelled best for much of the way he faded through lack of condition. That should have sharpened him up sufficiently to open his account under Rules for a stable that’s amongst the winners.
Race 4 No3 MOVIDDY
Trainer: Noel Williams – Jockey: Jonathan Burke
Space Voyage will be all the rage for this mares’ handicap chase, having bolted up when equipped with blinkers on her latest start. She has to concede a colossal 23lbs to the consistent MOVIDDY which might prove beyond her, as the last named mare has been unlucky to run into decent foes when beaten into second on two recent visits to Fakenham.
LINGFIELD PARK
Race 4 No2 MOUNT MOGAN (Each Way)
Trainer: Laura Mongan – Jockey: Luke Morris
MOUNT MOGAN is at his best when able to get onto the lead, and having come good in a classified race last time he now needs to consolidate. He’s in a better race, but has thrived for a freshening break, and can help make it a good day for his Epsom-based trainer.
Race 5 No7 REGAL GLORY (Each Way)
Trainer: Laura Mongan – Jockey: Paddy Bradley
REGAL GLORY’s chance is not as obvious, but in the same colours the mare can have a say in the outcome of this Class6 over 1400 metres. It’s two years since her last success, but all losing runs are there to be broken, while she hinted with a podium finish at Kempton last time that she’s getting ready to score again.
Race 6 No3 GALLANT (Nap)
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: Oisin Murphy
GALLANT can launch the first leg of an across-the-card double for his trainer, who has Tuscan Star running later on. The Hello Youmzain colt had a subsequent Group 2 winner behind him when getting off the mark at Kempton in the autumn and should have too many guns for Diablo Rojo.
WOLVERHAMPTON
Race 1 No1 QUEEN ALL STAR
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: David Probert
QUEEN ALL STAR looks to hold the cards in the opener, having scored on her Windsor debut and finished third under a penalty on her only other start at Goodwood last August. She’s been showing plenty of speed in her work, and should be suited by this drop back to 1000 metres, while she’s not likely to be compromised by a switch to the all-weather.
Race 3 No1 TUSCAN STAR (Nap)
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: Callum Hutchinson
TUSCAN STAR has been in unstoppable form through the winter and in running up a three race winning sequence made himself the go-to horse under a further 4lb weights rise in this three-year-old only handicap. The son of Yafta has done us a couple of favours, and it’s hard to see his progression being halted tonight.
Race 5 No7 SUPREME KING
Trainer: David Evans – Jockey: Rossa Ryan
Having improved from race to race, SUPREME KING opened his account in snug fashion at Kempton. That was a career best run from the Kingman gelding who if showing he’s as good on the Tapeta surface should follow-up.
