The 2022 Irish Derby Festival, seen by many as the pinnacle of the Irish flat racing, is a meeting that Hollywoodbets is thrilled to be able to be involved with this year at the Curragh.
The betting operator – originally from Durban, South Africa – are the sponsors of four races on Friday’s card, and there’ll be plenty of goodies given away at the racecourse on both the Friday and Saturday.
Find the Purple Team at the track, they’ll tell you all you need to know to get your hands on the merchandise and other surprises!
The four sponsored races on Friday, 24 June are:
– Brentford FC Sponsors The Garden Province Maiden
– Hollywoodbets We’re Painting Ireland Purple Handicap
– Hollywoodbets We’re Here To Take Over Handicap
– Hollywoodbets Shaping Your Betting Experience Handicap
Three days of top-class thoroughbred racing across the 2022 Irish Derby Festival
At the time of writing, Epsom Derby 3rd, Westover, is the 11/10 favourite on Hollywoodbets.
Aiden O’Brien-trained Stone Age leads the Irish charges, currently 4/1 on site.
Which horse will win the 2022 Irish Derby and have their name etched in greatness alongside the likes of Shergard, Montjeu, Galileo, High Chaparral and Dylan Thomas?
Away from the main event, there are a number of fascinating supporting races, including the Hollywoodbets Shaping Your Betting Experience Handicap over 2m, taking place on Friday. Some of the entries to this race are names better known in jumps racing, with A Wave Of The Sea, Cape Gentleman and Run For Oscar among the field. Keep an eye out for the market on Hollywoodbets once final declarations have been made.
Aside from the 2022 Irish Derby on Saturday, the Group 3 ARM Holding Stakes is shaping up to be a great spectacle and attractice betting proposition.
Lafayette, the winner of the Group 3 Hollywoodbets Aleged Stakes, is entered. It would not be a shock to see him run well off the back of a below par outing at Royal Ascot last week.
The same might be said about Mashhoor who was well fancied for the Duke of Edinburgh last week, only to finish last of 18.
The final day of the 2022 Irish Derby Festival, Sunday, is headed by the Group 1 Pretty Polly Stakes over 1m2f for 3yo+ fillies – and what a race it could be!
Oaks winner Tuesday is entered, but there has been a lot of talk about her possibly being supplemented for the 2022 Irish Derby. Even if that does happen, the likes of La Petite Coco (who’s only tasted defeat once for Peter Twomey) and Prix d’Ispahan winner Dreamloper are set to compete in what should be a memorable contest.
Keep your eyes on the Hollywoodbets blog this week to get my tips for the 2022 Irish Derby and all the racing at the Curragh across the three-day spectacle.
