MARKET RASEN

Race 2 No10 TREEFINCH (Each Way)
Trainer: Stuart Edmunds – Jockey: Ciaran Gethings

Telescope filly TREEFINCH showed up for a long way before weakening on her debut over hurdles at Worcester and will be all the better with the benefit of that outing under her belt. She was placed in three of her four starts in bumpers and comes from a good family. Her trainer knows all about.

Race 5 No2 PRECIOUS ELEANOR (Nap)
Trainer: Henry Daly – Jockey: Richard Patrick

This is a well contested listed chase for distaffers in which PRECIOUS ELEANOR can put her best foot forward. Hugely consistent, she has only finished out of the frame twice in 20 starts under Rules, and on one of those fell. Encouragingly, she ended a run of five straight seconds after going chasing by decisively landing her last two starts at Warwick and Cheltenham, and looks to have turned the corner.

TAUNTON

Race 6 No1 MIDNIGHT CALLISTO (Nap)
Trainer: Anthony Honeyball – Jockey: Ben Godfrey

A fractional top weight in this mares’ handicap hurdle, MIDNIGHT CALLISTO returns fitter than she was for her comeback last season and looks worth chancing in a tight knit contest. The daughter of Midnight Legend scored in two of her last four outings, and if getting onto an easy lead could prove hard to catch as the only bet on a trappy card.

NEWCASTLE

Race 2 No4 HIDALGO DE L’ISLE
Trainer: Donald McCain Jnr – Jockey: Brian Hughes

Unless fit from the Flat Matchless is slick at his hurdles, this should fall to HIDALGO DE L’ISLE, who by taking away a cheque on both bumper outings last season showed ability for his top connections. He has pleased in his work and schooling, and looks set to open his account.

Race 5 No7 KILBARRY LEADER (Nap)
Trainer: Oliver Greenall – Jockey: Thomas Dowson

KILBARRY LEADER impressively won his only point in Ireland before scoring on two of three bumper starts for his current trainer. He looks a smart prospect for hurdling, and if his jumping stands the test, he should add to his laurels.

CHELMSFORD CITY

Race 2 No4 DENSETSU
Trainer: Marco Botti – Jockey: Setefano Cherchi

DENSETSU shaped promisingly to trouble the judge on her Newmarket introduction last month when easy to back, she put in some pleasing work at the finish, and from a good draw alongside doubly penalised paper favourite Perdika can give that rival plenty to think about, getting a stone.

Race 3 No4 ONE FOR THE FROG (Nap)
Trainer: Sean Woods – Jockey: David Probert

ONE FOR THE FROG encountered Tapeta on his Southwell debut and only needs to show he’s as capable on Polytrack to hold a great chance of opening his account. The Dabirsim colt is well drawn to get onto the pace, and should have too much for rivals that have little to bring to the table.

Race 6 No6 ALL ARE MINE
Trainer: Brian Meehan – Jockey: Sean Levey

ALL ARE MINE hails from a stable that’s been quiet this year, but the New Bay gelding is one of the least exposed runners in this race around a full circuit of the track. Furthermore, he defends an unbeaten record for his trainer, having opened his account at Windsor ahead of this first run in a handicap.
