The result trimmed Arsenal’s Premier League lead from seven points to four, although they remain in pole position in the title race.
Arsenal’s supporters have endured frustration in recent seasons, having watched the club finish runners-up in each of the past three campaigns.
Odegaard acknowledged that those experiences linger, but insisted they should inspire belief rather than fear, particularly with the club still well placed to end a 22-year wait for a league championship.
The Arsenal captain dismissed suggestions that nerves in the stands are transferring onto the pitch, stressing that the responsibility lies with the players to stay focused and composed. He emphasised the importance of unity within the squad as the season reaches a decisive stage.
Odegaard added that setbacks are inevitable in a title challenge and believes Arsenal must show resilience in their response.
“I didn’t feel that. I was so focused on the game,” said Odegaard when asked if there were nerves at Arsenal.
“Obviously [finishing second for three consecutive seasons] is a factor, but it can be a good factor too. It gives you more fuel and more hunger and determination to get it done.
“We have experienced in all those seasons that it is a long run and a lot of things can happen. It is time to stick together more than ever, look for the next game and bounce back.
“It is tough in this league. It was never going to be easy. We just have to keep working and keep going. We are still top of the league. We are still in a good position.
“We are disappointed we lost [against United]. We should have won this game. But that’s football and there are going to be ups and downs. Now it is about how we deal with it.”
