City will also pay the release clause fee of £62.5 million in 24 monthly installments, including bonuses.

The 26-year-old winger will wear the number 42 shirt, which was worn by former football and now Saudi Arabia assistant coach Yaya Toure.

In a video released on the Manchester City Twitter page, Semenyo had a few words to say about his new home, “My best football is yet to come, I am sure of that. And City are in a great position – still involved in four competitions. I really feel I can help them have a strong second half of the season.”

Semenyo joined Bournemouth in January 2023 from Bristol City. As he leaves the Cherries, he has scored 32 goals and 13 assists from 110 appearances in all competitions.

Manchester City director of football Hugo Viana is pleased with the done deal and the young football star has been longing to join the citizens .

“He (Semenyo) made it clear to us immediately that it was City he wanted to join. His enthusiasm for this football club has been clear throughout this process.”

Getting Semenyo was not easy at all for the citizens. Big clubs like Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham, and Manchester United were all interested in him. Chelsea stopped their move early because they did not want to pay his release clause.
