BEVERLY

Race 1 – LADY NUNTHORPE 9/4

Bryan Smart’s LADY NUNTHORPE took a big step forward from her first run to her second and could have almost won with a clear passage last time out.

Only fourth of five on debut at Carlisle, she showed the Westwood holds no fears recently when never far away in a race won by Rocket Money.

Should she improve again for that outing, her track experience and the in-form Paul Mulrennan should ensure that she is right on the premises.

Race 4 – WADE’s MAGIC 15/2

Tim Easterby’s WADE’s MAGIC showed a bit more dropped to five furlongs 10 days ago and back over the minimum trip in the first division of the Malcolm Greenslade Doncaster LVA Stalwart Memorial Handicap, he might be the one to concentrate on.

Race 6 – ZINC WHITE 6/5

The stayers are in the spotlight in the 137th Year Of The Watt Memorial Handicap and ZINC WHITE could be the answer if bouncing back form his Royal Ascot disappointment.

The five-year-old made a winning start for Ian Williams in the Chester Plate two starts ago, defying an absence of 561 days to win cosily, although that effort possibly took its toll as he was never involved during the Ascot Stakes.

That run tempers enthusiasm slightly but he remains unexposed over marathon trips and if putting his best foot forward, could be the class angle in the race.

LINGFIELD

Race 1 – LISDARRAGH 5/1

There was little to separate LISDARRAGH (second) and Chagall (third) when the pair met over course and distance last month and despite the latter not getting much luck in running, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the former were able to confirm that form.

Fullforward has been given a chance by the handicapper, having been dropped 4lb for his last couple of runs, while Nivelle’s Magic and Moosmee are others worth noting.

Race 4 – BAND OF JOY 9/2

BAND OF JOY has looked a useful operator in her two outings so far and George Boughey’s youngster rates as the one to beat in the Legends & EBF Fillies’ Restricted Novice Stakes.

The daughter of Land Force was a silver medallist at Windsor on debut, but returned to the same venue to go one better earlier this month.

She looked to have plenty left in the tank during that triumph and could have more to give now as she moves up to six furlongs.

Race 5 – ICE COOL HARRY 11/4

Clive Cox’s ICE COOL HARRY has the chance to build on his Lingfield course-and-distance success in novice company as he enters the handicap ranks off a mark of 79 in the At The Races App Expert Tips Handicap.

However, Hydration is the danger. He got off the mark for the season at Ffos Las last month despite being forced to wait for a run and was value for more than the official margin, so there could be more to come.

Clipsham La Habana and Pinafore might be best of the rest in a fascinating contest.

Race 6 – SPARKILING SPIRIT 11/2

Tom Marquand is an interesting jockey booking for Adrian Keatley’s SPARKILING SPIRIT in the At The Races App Form Study Handicap.

Third on her second run for Andrew Balding, she changed hands and found herself with Keatley.

On her first outing for new connections, she was third at Wolverhampton and she has been allotted a mark of 65 which looks fair enough.

SOUTHWELL

Race 1 – SHARP NOTE 5/2

Point-to-point winner Touch Tight ran well in third over course and distance last month and races off 3lb lower here, while Young Wolf gets his ground and has won off much higher marks, though they were back in 2020 and he needs to bounce back to nearer that level.

Both can get involved, but SHARP NOTE won a shade cosily at Newton Abbot on only her second start over fences and if she continues to progress, she may follow up in this field with Michael Nolan keeping the ride.

Race 3 – WICK GREEN 11/4

The in-form WICK GREEN can complete a hat-trick in the Connie White Memorial Handicap Chase.

Ben Pauling’s veteran was a 10-length winner at Worcester in May and then defied an 8lb rise to follow up over course and distance earlier this month.

He was a commanding four lengths ahead of the field then and can prove he has even more in the locker despite a further 5lb rise.

Race 5 – YOUNG MERLIN 11/8

YOUNG MERLIN made a successful switch from the Flat to strike readily over track and trip last month and is tough to oppose for Amy Murphy in the At The Races App Form Study Novices’ Hurdle.

Race 6 – PURE SURF 9/2

PURE SURF was no match for an easy winner here when attempting to back up her Cartmel success under a penalty.

The manner of her recent performances suggest another try at 3m is justified and the mare is capable of going one better today.

She’s All In Gold could have more to offer after her second over course and distance last month, while Faerie Cutlass and Betty’s Belle can fight it out for the places.

NOTTINGHAM

Race 1 – BERYL BURTON 7/2

BERYL BURTON is an appealing option given the improvement she has shown this year.

The John Berry-trained mare is worth forgiving her most recent start at Bath, as she was denied a clear run near the finish and may well have got a lot closer to rewarding the strong support she received in the betting that day.

If anything, this looks easier and she may have too much of a finishing kick for the likes of Out Of Sight and Ivy Avenue.

Race 3 – TUKI TUKI 4/1

Hughie Morrison’s TUKI TUKI could break her duck at the third attempt in the British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes at Nottingham.

Third on debut at Newbury to Henry Candy’s smart filly Araminta, she filled the same spot most recently behind Ice Cool Harry.

Her first run was over seven furlongs, then she dropped to six and is now over five but given it seemed she did not quite get home last time, that looks a sensible move.

Race 4 – FORTUNATE STAR 9/2

An easy winner over course and distance last time out, FORTUNATE STAR must hold every chance of following up despite a hefty 10lb rise.

Conditions are in his favour once more and he gets the vote at the expense of Refuge, who has been in excellent form of late, and Ernest Rutherford.

Strong Johnson has yet to click since joining the Paul Midgley team, but he cannot be ruled out either.

Race 6 – CALYPSO 15/8

This could finally be the day that CALYPSO gets off the mark after some creditable runs in defeat the last twice.

The three-year-old seemed to get the trip at Hamilton and the booking of Hollie Doyle catches the eye as he looks to master the likes of Jack Daniel, who was a convincing winner at Thirsk on his penultimate outing, and Star Zinc.
