15/07/2022 – Friday’s Best Bets and Tips

Neil Morrice provides us with his best bets and tips for Friday’s race meetings at Haydock Park, Newbury, and Newmarket on 15/07/2022.

HAYDOCK PARK – 15/07/2022

Race 4 No4 ARCTIC FOX ( Nap)
Trainer: Martin Todhunter – Jockey: PJ McDonald

This can go to the only mare in the field ARCTIC FOX who battled tenaciously for a course and distance success last month. It was a most deserved success, and was further evidence that the addition of cheek pieces has improved her game plan. She just needs to show that she can handle these faster conditions.

NEWBURY – 15/07/2022

Race 2 No10 TRILLIUM ( Nap)
Trainer: Richard Hannon – Jockey: Pat Dobbs

TRILLIUM was worried out of it by Galeron on her debut at Goodwood but the No Nay Never filly learned bundles from that effort, will be a lot more streetwise and can open her account at the main expense of northern raider Swingalong.

Race 6 No5 PEMBROKESHIRE
Trainer: William Jarvis – Jockey: Richard Kingscote

PEMBROKESHIRE took a notable scalp when outpointing Princeville as a 50-1 roughie on debut. As there appeared to be no fluke about the success, the colt can take this step into Listed company in his stride, and remain unbeaten on the way to better things.

NEWMARKET – 15/07/2022

Race 1 No4 EMILY’S ECLIPSE (Nap)
Trainer: Ed Dunlop – Jockey: Hayley Turner

EMILY’S ECLIPSE could easily be overlooked in the market for this fillies’ novice race as she’s up against a couple of well touted foes. That’s a good reason to side with her, as she did nothing wrong when placed at Lingfield and Beverley and can bring the experience card to the table.

Race 2 No6 RING OF LIGHT (Each Way)
Trainer: Henry Candy – Jockey: Dane O’Neill

When Candy employs his former stable jockey O’Neill its always worth giving them a market check. RING OF LIGHT has shown ability ahead of this first run in a handicap, and the grey needs affording the closest inspection.

Race 5 No4 INVIGILATE
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Jockey: Ryan Moore

INVIGILATE ran better than her final placing indicates behind Heredia at Royal Ascot and came back with excuses. She is bred to relish the step up to a mile and a quarter and looked in good heart in her final gallop for this.
