13/07/2022 – Wednesday’s Best Bets and Tips

13/07/2022

Neil Morrice provides us with his best bets and tips for Wednesday’s race meetings at Brighton, Catterick Bridge, Uttoxeter, Lingfield Park and Yarmouth on 13/07/2022.

BRIGHTON – 13/07/2022

Race 4 No3 SISTERANDBROTHER
Trainer: Milton Harris – Jockey: David Probert

SISTERANDBROTHER can come out on top in this tricky handicap to make it a successful first visit to this course. His turf form in four outings for his trainer stands up to close inspection, while he is probably at his best over the mile and a half distance. While no shoe in, he has a good chance of getting back to winning ways.

Race 5 No3 EAGLE’S WAY (Nap)
Trainer: Sir Mark Prescott – Jockey: Luke Morris

This is the ‘silly season’ in which Prescott starts delivering his unexposed three-year-olds, and EAGLE’S WAY fits that bill. The Gleneagles gelding takes a big step up the distance ladder for his first run in a handicap, and can leave his modest juvenile form some way behind.

Race 6 No2 POETIC FORCE
Trainer: Tony Carroll – Jockey: Jason Watson

POETIC FORCE has been in the zone with form figures of 2212 with the last three of those happening on these undulations. He had the measure of Darvel over the track and trip in May and was back at seven furlongs when narrowly denied last time. Any of the four runners can win, but he looks a good percentage call.

CATTERICK BRIDGE – 13/07/2022

Race 3 No4 MANIGORDO
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan

MANIGORDO hasn’t enjoyed the rub of the green since gaining a first triumph for his trainer well over a year ago. However, the industrious gelding has troubled the judge in better races than this at Chester and Musselburgh, and is worth chancing against paper favourite Master Richard.

Race 6 a No1 WILLARD CREEK (Nap)
Trainer: David Barron – Jockey: Ben Curtis

WILLARD CREEK to beat market rival Wheal Kitty is the way this maiden can shape up. The selection has taken home a cheque in each of his four outings, and though proving costly at Redcar, came up against a tartar in Grantley Hall on what was his seasonal return. He can progress from that to open his account.

UTTOXETER – 13/07/2022

Race 4 No3 JUDGE EARLE
Trainer: Peter Bowen – Jockey: Sean Bowen

The mercurial JUDGE EARLE lost his way when first encountering fences last winter, but has bounced back with a vengeance to win at Ffos Las and finish second at Worcester. The ten-year-old can continue to make up for lost time on this return to a novices’ handicap.

UTO THE KING (Nap)
Trainer: Joe Tizzard – Jockey: Brendan Powell

KAUTO THE KING has been a revelation for his connections in completing a fine hat-trick from as many starts this year. He’s kept getting better, and the form of his latest Newton Abbot success was rubber stamped when the horse he beat went on to take out a decent prize himself. While the assessor has had his say, this slick jumper can remain unbeaten for his handler.

LINGFIELD PARK – 13/07/2022

Race 4 No7 STORM CHASER
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Rose Dawes

STORM CHASER created a stir by landing a race at Nottingham by 26 lengths, only to be beaten off the same mark when going for a quick follow-up at Haydock, while she was then readily outpointed in a better race at Doncaster. She’s at the same level of the handicap band, but with the inclusion of her apprentice’s 7lb claim is getting a lot of weight from her foes.

Race 6 No5 THISMYDREAM (Nap)
Trainer: Michael Attwater – Jockey: William Carson

THISMYDREAM deserves to get his head in front after a string of earning runs, the last three under the tutelage of Attwater who now knows more about the Camacho gelding. This versatile performer can strike a blow on his return to the Polytrack.

YARMOUTH – 13/07/2022

Race 1 No6 KODIAC SIGN (Nap)
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Jockey: Harry Davies

With star apprentice Davies on his back, KODIAC SIGN has a great chance of opening his account on this handicap debut. The former galloping companion of Derby winner Desert Crown underwhelmed at Chester but with just three runs under his belt is open to stacks of improvement.

Race 2 No2 PRINCEVILLE
Trainer: Charlie Appleby – Jockey: William Buick

Exceed And Excel colt PRINCEVILLE gave it a good shot against Pembrokeshire on his introduction here and with the benefit of that run under his belt and a slight cut back on the distance ladder can prove a worthy favourite and outpoint Al Dasim.
