HAYDOCK PARK
Race 1 No1 ARTHURIAN (Nap)
Trainer: Andrew Balding: Jockey: Oisin Murphy
ARTHURIAN got revved up in the preliminaries and then did too much in front when turned over as an odds on shot at Beverley. He was a sitting duck for the horse that beat him, but with more controlled aggression the son of Camelot should open his account as the best bet on this card.
Race 3 No4 DARKNESS (Each Way)
Trainer: David O’Meara – Jockey: Rossa Ryan
DARKNESS has spent most of 2026 contesting Class3 and Class2 races, but back in a Class4 at Nottingham last week made a good fist of it against the useful Tamzan. That’s very solid form which strongly suggests the former French trained veteran is ready to break an eleven race losing run.
Race 7 No3 CHARLIE MASON (Each Way)
Trainer: Tony Carroll – Jockey: Rossa Ryan
More speculative is CARLIE MASON, but it was on similarly heavy ground that the five-year-old scored at Lingfield back in June and at this lower level he could stage a revival, especially with the addition of Ryan to his saddle.
REDCAR
Race 3 No6 TRAPPED GODDESS (Nap)
Trainer: Hugo Palmer – Jockey: David Probert
TRAPPED GODDESS made an eye taking start to her career when outrunning her lengthy odds to chase home a well regarded opponent at Haydock and will have benefited from that initial experience. The daughter of Sioux Nation has a top flight jockey doing the steering in a race she’s entitled to win.
Race 5 No1 HANNEY GIRL (Each Way)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: Jake Dickson
Less obvious is HANNEY GIRL who though winless in ten appearances this season ran better than her finishing position suggests in better company last time. She’s back in her comfort zone with a capable apprentice taking 5lb off her back, and could prove a surprise packet.
Race 7 No7 REGINALD CHARLES (Each Way)
Trainer: Geoff Oldroyd – Jockey: PJ McDonald
The consistent REGINALD CHARLES has shown his best form on the AW with three deliveries on sand since joining his handler. While yet to win on grass he’s coming here off a couple of good earning runs and is more than capable of success if enjoying the rub of the green.
Race 8 No4 SWEET KISS (Each Way)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: Miss Amy Collier
Another horse that’s been regularly in the money while struggling to win is SWEET KISS. The Ulysses filly is part of a twin raid on this race, accompanied by a horse in the same ownership. While that complicates the issue to a degree, the selection has knocked on the door and will go close if repeating either of her last two earning efforts.
UTTOXETER
Race 3 No5 FOLIE GOLIATH (Nap)
Trainer: Faye Bramley – Jockey: Harry Cobden
As a four-year-old FOLIE GOLIATH gets all the allowances on debut for Bramley in this mares’ novices chase and needs respecting. The filly was beaten in a close photo when last seen in the Prix le Touquet Chase at Auteuil and is the winner of a Listed chase there. She enjoys cut in the ground but will handle today’s underfoot conditions with very good assistance from the saddle.
Race 5 No2 RULA BULA
Trainer: Jonjo O’Neill – Jockey: Jonjo O’Neill Jr
RULA BULA switches to fences by going straight into handicap company in a race that has cut up favourably for her. She’s competing close to her last winning mark over hurdles at a track where O’Neill likes to introduce his smart novices.
NEWCASTLE
Race 6 No2 LEADING TIMES (Nap)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: Sean Kirrane
With so few miles on his racing clock LEADNG TIMES catches the eye on a first run in a handicap. The Blue Point gelding made the perfect start for his new trainer when downing an odds on foe in a Southwell novice. There appeared to be no fluke about the triumph, and here is his chance to prove it.
Race 7 No4 TRAIS FLUORS (Each Way)
Trainer: Linda Perratt- Jockey: Tom Kiely-Marshall
TRAIS FLUORS is a law unto himself and now in the evening of a career which began with him winning a Group race in France. He can however pop up at a big price and this race looks like being run at a good lick which will suit him.
