LINGFIELD PARK
Race 2 No2 KIAH
Trainer: Brian Meehan – Jockey: Tom Marquand
Australia filly KIAH brings back-to-back earning runs at Newmarket to the table which is easily the best form on offer. If performing near that level she should open her account as her latest near miss has been franked.
Race 3 No1 ENOCH (Nap)
Trainer: John Gosden – Jockey: William Buick
The best horse on display today is ENOCH, who should preserve his unbeaten record in this interesting novice. The son of Frankel produced a smart change of gear when making a winning introduction at Newmarket for which he’s incurred a penalty, but the vibes from Newmarket suggest he’s more than capable of following up.

Race 1 No5 LAYLATY
Trainer: Harry Charlton – Jockey: Lewis Edmunds
A rail draw can tip the balance in favour of Lingfield scorer LAYLATY in this 1200 metres nursery. The selection capitalised on a class drop when posting that first career win, while a 4lb rise doesn’t appear excessive. She’s up against a fellow recent winner in DOWNONMAINSTREET who comes here with a near identical profile, but has to break from the outside post.
Race 5 No4 WINDAY (Nap)
Trainer: Emmet Mullins – Jockey: Rossa Ryan
A rare runner here for her trainer, WINDAY returns to the Flat after running in Listed hurdles in France. He brings good Flat form to the table from last year, and though outclassed in a black type contest at Longchamp last time looks like he means business with Rossa Ryan doing the steering.
Race 7 No10 HOTEL CALIFORNIA (Each Way)
Trainer: David Menuisier – Jockey: Mason Paetel
Named after an iconic Eagles song and racing in the colours of record producer Chris Wright, HOTEL CALIFORNIA can end a quiet spell for her trainer. The Saxon Warrior filly goes into bat on handicap debut on the back of a promising effort last time, and might have been let in lightly.
CARLISLE
Race 2 No3 BLAZING INFERNO
Trainer: Ed Bethell – Jockey: Danny Tudhope
Starspangledbanner is enjoying a good year and his representative here BLAZING INFERNO needs taking seriously on the back of good reports from the Middleham gallops. The selection might have most to fear from 240,000 guinea purchase BENBECULA, whose trainer is a dab hand at getting one ready for his top owners.
Race 3 No2 KANZI (Nap)
Trainer: Charlie Johnston – Jockey: Callum Shepherd
Ghaiyyath filly KANZI brings smart form on grass and the all-weather to the table on nursery debut. She enters the fray off a mark of 79 from which she can repel the challenge of Epsom scorer BINCIMBAL.
Race 4 No6 TIP FOSTER
Trainer: David Barron – Jockey: Connor Beasley
As the least exposed runner in this sprint handicap for three-year-olds TIP FOSTER can take care of business. He drops back to 1200 metres after showing good natural speed to score at Thirsk, and with a top northern rider in the saddle is fancied to follow-up.
NEWTON ABBOT
Race 3 No2 BUXTED REEL (Nap)
Trainer: Tom Lacey – Jockey: Stan Sheppard
BUXTED REEL is too good a horse to remain a maiden over jumps much longer, and after troubling the judge on his last two hurdles outings has been handed a fine opportunity to open his account. While he didn’t run as well on the Flat the other day that shouldn’t deter us from backing him in this relatively weak affair.
Race 7 No3 KING OF THE BRONX
Trainer: Syd Hosie – Jockey: Ellis Collier
Although he’s carded to start as the outsider of four my eye is drawn to KING OF THE BRONX. He’s been off for a year but was a winner at Cork when last seen over hurdles. That was a career best from the gelding whose main opponent BEORMA was pulled up at Stratford on Tuesday and may be scratched.
SOUTHWELL
Race 3 No3 MASTER RICHARD (Each Way)
Trainer: Ann Duffield – Jockey: Shane Gray
Super consistent MASTER RICHARD enjoys the pick of the draw one off the fence in this race over 1400 metres. He went down in a blanket finish at Doncaster and that seasonal best effort is there to be improved upon on a first start for the Duffield stable.
Race 5 No7 TRUST YOURSELF (Nap)
Trainer: James Tate – Jockey: Silvestre De Sousa
Considering he’d had problems breathing before showcasing the benefit of a wind op to score at Wolverhampton, there could be more to come from TRUST YOURSELF in this nursery. He’s 1lb well in under a penalty, has a cracking draw and a strong jockey to ensure he breaks on terms.
Race 6 No3 MIRACULOUS
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: Duran Fentiman
This is safe territory for MIRACULOUS who carded a course and distance success two runs back before making a bold bid to follow-up at Hamilton. He’s up 1lb for that defeat but the return to Tapeta is going to benefit him, and he’s fancied to extend his earning sequence.
