The 34-year-old asked the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to overturn the sanctions imposed by the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA), but the appeal was dismissed and all charges were upheld.

Bensoussan was suspended for one year and 11 months in June after an independent anti-corruption hearing officer found him guilty of fixing four matches.

He was also linked to a criminal investigation into a match-fixing syndicate in Belgium and was fined £8,880 in addition to the suspension.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) informed the media that the investigation had “uncovered a criminal organisation that corrupted at least 181 players worldwide and involved the manipulation of at least 375 tennis matches”.

Bensoussan made his competitive debut on the ITF World Tennis Tour in 2008 and went on to enjoy a career primarily on the lower-tier professional circuit.

During his career, the Frenchman won eight ITF singles titles and reached a career-high ATP singles ranking of No. 405 in June 2018.

Following the Court of Arbitration for Sport’s decision to extend his suspension for match-fixing until 2030, Bensoussan is prohibited from playing in, coaching at, or attending any events organised or sanctioned by World Tennis, the WTA, the ATP, or the Grand Slam tournaments.
