She will also play doubles with her sister, Venus Williams, as the famous Williams sisters reunite on the court.

The 44-year-old returned to competitive tennis on 9 June 2026 at the Queen’s Club grass-court tournament. She teamed up with Canadian teenager Victoria Mboko in the doubles event. The pair made a strong start by defeating Nicole Melichar-Martinez and Erin Routliffe 7-6 (7-2), 6-2 in the first round.

But their run in the tournament ended early after Mboko suffered an injury during her singles match against Karolina Pliskova. In the second set, with Mboko leading 4-3 and trying to break Pliskova’s serve, she slipped on the grass behind the baseline while changing direction to reach a shot.

Since stepping onto the famous grass courts for the first time in 1998, Williams has built an incredible record, winning 98 of her 112 singles matches across 21 appearances.

Her Wimbledon journey includes seven singles titles, a testament to her power, consistency, and ability to shine on the sport’s biggest courts.

Three of those titles came in all-Williams finals, with Serena defeating her sister Venus in 2002, 2003, and again in 2009. She continued her reign by defeating Vera Zvonareva in 2010, Agnieszka Radwanska in 2012, Garbine Muguruza in 2015 and Angelique Kerber in 2016.

Serena also reached four other Wimbledon finals, finishing runner-up to Maria Sharapova in 2004, Venus Williams in 2008, Kerber in 2018, and Simona Halep in 2019.

Wimbledon 2026 will take place from 29 June to 12 July at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London. The official draw takes place on Friday. That is when players will know their first-round opponents
