BRIGHTON

Race 3 No2 NIGHT BEAR (Nap)
Trainer: Tony Carroll – Jockey: Jack Doughty

Leading Brighton trainer Carroll looks to have found the right opening for NIGHT BEAR to end a losing sequence going back two years. He was only denied in a photo over course and distance earlier in the month, showing that he’s in the mood to put it all together following a lean time on the all weather through the winter and spring.

Race 4 No4 TWILIGHT GUEST
Trainer: George Margarson – Jockey: Jack Doughty

Multiple scorer ROCKAFELLA SHARK bids for a nap hand of successes, but his unbeaten sequence of 2026 can be halted by TWILIGHT GUEST who is better than he’s showed in recent races, and posed to cash in on a concession of almost a stone by the top weight.

Race 7 No6 CORRESPONDENCE
Trainer: Tony Carroll – Jockey: Myla Coppins

It may be best to leave it to Carroll in the nightcap and side with CORRESPONDENCE, whose Windsor success and Bath second show him to be operating at the peak of his powers.

PONTEFRACT

Race 3 No4 REIGNING PROFIT (Each Way)
Trainer: Ruth Carr – Jockey: James Sullivan

Although a high draw is far from ideal, REIGNING PROFIT can put in an earning run in a drop into calmer waters and on a track that will suit. The nine race winner had more on front of him than behind at York last month but is handicapped to bounce back dropped in grade.

Race 4 No4 COEDANA (Nap)
Trainer: Ed Bethell – Jockey: Connor Beasley

The best race of the day can fall to COEDANA, who has shown an admirable consistency and deserves to get her head back in front after a podium finish behind the top class Estrange at Carlisle. Although both her career successes happened on the all-weather she acts just as well on turf, and gets every yard of this mile and a half.

Race 7 No4 MOUNT KING (Each Way)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan

MOUNT KING hasn’t shown much in three starts this season but at least has been given a chance by the assessor. The four times winner could well be afforded the strong gallop required for his finishing kick to prove most effective and three of those triumphs happened at this venue.

HEXHAM

Race 4 No2 HIGH DANCER (Nap)
Trainer: Nicky Richards – Jockey: Danny McMenamin

There was much to take out of HIGH DANCER’s latest offering when he reappeared in first time cheelmpieces and down in trip at Market Rasen. The once smart Crebilly denied him by just a head, and while my selection has been raised 3lb he should prove up to the task in hand.
