SALISBURY

Race 1 No2 FOSCARINI (Each Way)
Trainer: Eve Johnson Houghton – Jockey: Charles Bishop

In the colours of ace juvenile of 2025 Zavateri, FOSCARINI is worth a market check. The vibes for the Without Parole colt are favourable, while lack of a previous outing might not stop him.

Race 3 No2 ARANTES NASCIMENTO
Trainer: Mike Attwater – Jockey: Kieren Fox

A class drop can work the oracle for ARANTES NASCIMENTO who is 3lb higher than for his Kempton win earlier in the season. He rarely fails to trouble the judge and was having a first run over this 1200 metres trip when chasing home Expert Agent at Newmarket.

Race 4 No6 HUGH
Trainer: Clive Cox – Jockey: Tom Marquand

In an open heat HUGH could prove the way to go, as his recent near miss at Southwell was franked by the winner. The Showcasing colt now switches to turf but is bred to enjoy it.

Race 5 No1 BESIEGED (Nap)
Trainer: Harry Charlton – Jockey: Lewis Edmunds

BESIEGED has found one to beat him in both career starts but put up a commendable performance at Newbury over today’s mile and a quarter trip. He’s the one with the points on the board, and can play the experience card to good effect.

Race 6 No1 REGAL CHARM (Each Way)
Trainer: Henry Candy – Jockey: Rob Hornby

REGAL CHARM endured a stop start season in 2025 but nevertheless posted a win on her return to action as well as chasing home the useful Day Of Grace at Newbury in the autumn. With her ability to run well fresh guaranteed, she is definitely worth a speculative investment.

SOUTHWELL

Race 1 No1 NO MORE NO
Trainer: Lawney Hill – Jockey: David Bass

The best bet on this card is bold front runner NO MORE NO. He jumped beautifully when scoring on chase debut over this course and distance when returning from a protracted absence, while a further lay off of more than a year is unlikely to impair his progress today.

Race 4 No3 MANALISHI
Trainer: Richard Phillips – Jockey: Harry Bannister

It’s hard to knock MANALISHI, who after three near misses in a bumper and novice hurdles deserves a change of luck. If able to reproduce the level of his Uttoxeter second he should open his account.

Race 5 No7 PARAGON (Each Way)
Trainer: Pam Sly – Jockey: Paul O’Brien

PARAGON didn’t fare badly in his first visit to a handicap when fourth at Market Rasen and has scope for progression on just a sixth run under Rules. He looks a value play against paper favourite PRETTYLADY.

CARLISLE

Race 1 No1 BAY BREEZE (Nap)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: Mr Thomas Easterby

BAY BREEZE upped his game when troubling the judge on a third start of the season at Ripon. While that is his favourite track he’s more than capable of taking the spoils as he will go in the ground and remains at his optimum trip.

Race 3 No12 TURRET (Each Way)
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: PJ McDonald

The beautifully-bred TURRET talk a walk in the market and was never seen with a chance of debut at Lingfield but might be worth chancing to raise his game. He badly needed that experience and should be able to obtain a better early position from his slot on the rail.

Race 5 No6 TAYLORMADE BOY
Trainer: Michael Dods – Jockey: Connor Beasley

TAYLORMADE BOY is taken to turn the tables on NATURALIA on their running over this course and distance at the end of May. He’s better off at the weights and was having just a second outing of the year. It’s certainly brought him near his peak for this assignment.

Race 6 No12 HATAMOTO
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: Duran Fentiman

After doing his best work at the finish to claim a minor cheque at Leicester, HATAMOTO should benefit from a move up to 1800 metres. He has few miles on his racing clock but has improved from race to race.

BRIGHTON

Race 4 No12 CELTIC JOHN (Each Way)
Trainer: Pat Phelan – Jockey: Darragh Keenan

CELTIC JOHN gained valuable experience of this switchback course when in the money on his latest start and is well worth another crack at the mile and a quarter trip. As on his winning visit to Lingfield in the winter he will be held on to get the trip, and might just need some luck in running up the final hill.

Race 5 No3 CAPE TORONADA
Trainer: Tony Carroll – Jockey: William Carson

Carroll is the proverbial king of Brighton and rarely leaves the course empty handed. One of his best chances today is CAPE TORONADA, who has been running well on grass and especially when second at Windsor last time. The filly went up just 1lb for that solid effort.

Race 6 No2 MERRIMACK (Nap)
Trainer: Stuart Williams – Jockey: Chloe Lyons

MERRIMACK ran freely in the lead but kept on well to finish second at Newbury, beaten a neck. He’s a competitive individual who rarely fails to make the frame, and a similar performance can be expected from him this evening.
