FONTWELL PARK

Race 2 No1 SHALFA
Trainer: Lydia Richards – Jockey: Marc Goldstein

Dual purpose mare SHALFA carded a deserved success over hurdles at Plumpton having won twice at Brighton, before her attention was switched to jumping. It was in a stronger race that she finished fourth back at Plumpton last month, showing that she’s enjoying her racing.

Race 4 No1 SMUGGLERS HAVEN (Nap)
Trainer: Sara Bradstock – Jockey: Miss Lily Bradstock

Point winner SMUGGLERS HAVEN took well to hurdling with three successes, and after landing an amateur riders chase at Chepstow experienced an uncharacteristic fall at Taunton. She returns from a freshening break and should enjoy this figure-of-eight circuit which tends to suit front runners.

UTTOXETER

Race 3 No7 PERCY SHELLEY
Trainer: James Owen – Jockey: Jonathan Burke

PERCY SHELLEY can go well in this valuable handicap hurdle but wouldn’t want the ground to dry out. He’s proving to be a very useful dual purpose horse for his connections, and while his successes on the Flat are infrequent he delivered at this course to open his account last September, then followed up at Ludlow.

Race 6 No8 BALLYDISCO (Each Way)
Trainer: Tom Lacey – Jockey: Stan Sheppard

BALLYDISCO hasn’t won for three seasons but on a first run out of a new stable can show that a change of scenery has done him good. The nine-year-old is unexposed as a chaser and probably well handicapped.

KELSO

Race 2 No2 THE KEMBLE BREWERY (Nap)
Trainer: Kim Bailey – Jockey: Thomas Bellamy

THE KEMBLE BREWERY is at his best when able to dominate, as was the case when he made all to score easing down at Chepstow. He’s been out up 9lb for his troubles, but this race has cut up in his favour.
