MUSSELBURGH

Race 2 No8 SEED YA LATER (Nap)
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: Edward Greatrex

SEED YA LATER was easy to back but ran a cracker to finish a neck second on her Bath introduction to give Channon a useful steer onto the strength of his earlier juveniles. The daughter of Bungle Inthejungle can put some male opponents to the sword here.

Race 4 No7 LETSBEFRANK (Each Way)
Trainer: Jim Goldie – Jockey: Lauren Young

LETSBEFRANK couldn’t follow on last year from a productive 2024 campaign when winning three of his six starts although hovered close to netting a decent pot, especially when fourth in a Class 4 at York when a slow start impaired his chance. I’m looking at him as a well treated entity that needs to be closely monitored this season, and a market check is advised here.

Race 7 No7 REIGNING PROFIT (Each Way)
Trainer: Ruth Carr – Jockey: James Sullivan

REIGNING PROFIT didn’t enjoy the best of runs up the final hill at Pontefract last time and his five lengths defeat was better than it looked. He needs luck in running, but if getting the breaks should be involved.

NOTTINGHAM

Race 3 No1 PHOENIX MOON
Trainer: Denis Coakley – Jockey: Rossa Ryan

PHOENIX MOON is turning into a very good money spinner for her owners, although the bulk of her earning has happened on the all-weather. It’s a question of whether she can translate that form to the grass, as so far she’s zero from six on it. Rossa Ryan is however a very good addition to her chance.

Race 6 No5 SEE THE FIRE (Nap)
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: Rob Hornby

The Listed feature looks to be at the mercy of SEE THE FIRE, who after storming home in the Middleton Stakes at York then contested five straight Group 1s. She was only denied by a short head in the Prix de l’Opera at Longchamp and was probably over the top when disappointing at the Breeders’ Cup. She escapes getting any penalties in this race, and has a stone in hand of her closest rival on the ratings.

WETHERBY

Race 1 No7 HOOD WINK (Each Way)
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: Sean Kirrane

HOOD WINK wasn’t wanted in the betting on a second run of the year at Redcar last week. He was quite keen, but ran into traffic problems that didn’t appear to be picked up on. He’s capable of a much better showing today, and is definitely over priced.

Race 2 No8 PRINCLING (Nap)
Trainer: William Haggas – Jockey: Tom Marquand

Kingman colt PRINCLING should have the bases covered if nearly as good as he looked in two outings last season. The form of his Newmarket second was boosted, and he’s going to be better suited by the step up to a mile on this seasonal return.
